Me and Harley D lived there for a month in the capitol San Jose. Beautiful country. Creeping is extremely easy there on really hot girls. We knew just enough spanish to approach and Google Translate did the rest of it for converting our texts into spanish but very few people know english. Girls are also more feminine there and take care of their bodies a little bit better then in america (everyone walks to where they want to go). Also not sure about you but I love the food at the sodas. Empanadas, Plantains, etc... And it's super cheap too. Gyms are really expensive for some random reason (one gym wanted $80 a month), and the currency doesnt convert as well as it used to, but it's still good I believe. The weather is constant 72 degrees across the year. People tend to go really out of their way to help you if you need directions.
Oh yea and tropical fruit tastes a lot better from there. I would live there but it is extremely hard to immigrate. You would need an attorney to sort out the details but they do a good job protecting their workforce from immigrants coming in and taking their jobs. But I do know they want entrepreneurship so that may be in demand.
1) Do you know the gun laws?
2) How is crime in the first place?
3) Is cost of living closer to Los Angeles or Boise?
i appreciate your help, maybe I should go there for a month... you just when to chill there for a month?
mi espanol no bueno [though]
1. You may have a gun if you are a resident/citizen. Its a 2-3 month process. If you're just a tourist than forget it. Gotta get that residency status
2. We were warned as long as you stay out of certain areas of san jose at night than you're good. Crime is not rampant there and i'm sure as a big dude you'd be fine. It's like random crimes. Not much cartel violence in costa rica like in columbia.
3. More like Boise. You'll here people complain about costa rica being "expensive" but this is only relative to the other poor countries around it like nicaragua which is stupid cheap to live there. But compare CR to LA and CR is way cheaper.
Yea man, didn't know at the time what I wanted in life so I just saved up some money with my best friend and we just said fuck it and went down there to creep and go wherever life led us. We could have had some job opportunities there but they sucked big balls. They were of course jobs under the table working in call center or a booking company but we got a better wrap on what we wanted in life after we came out and that's where I've been since.
If you want a crash immersion course on spanish the gold standard is Platiquemos. Pimsleur is more accessible and if not needing to learn ultra fast may be fine.
I spent two weeks backpacking around Costa Rica a few years ago. Its a really beautiful country with really friendly people who mostly speak decent English. There are a lot of tourists in the Dec to Apr season so you can for sure fuck a lot of hot girls from all over the world. I saw girls from Argentina which were simply mind blowing compared to what we have here in Toronto.
Personally I would not live in the capital San Jose. I prefer the coastal beach towns for a more laid back hippy / surfer vibe. Its also my dream to move there one day and maybe open a hostel / bed breakfast.
I stayed at a crappy hostel and then couchsurfing
I stayed with awesome people, had my own room, for free. It was good.
I remember the girls being extraordinarily gorgeous. Tight bodies, curves, asses all over the place. It may have been the weather (girls wear less clothes) or just a big city with a lot of people and women.
I wish I remembered more, I'll try to find my old journal.
Alwaysbeclosing would you mind giving an example of how an approach with a girl in Costa Rica went, with your limited Spanish?
I'm in Korea and facing the same issue; gorgeous girls and no knowledge of the native language
I would always open with: "entiende englis?" which is do you understand english. regardless of her answer I would always say "I think your beautiful" Most understand what beautiful is. Then I would say in spanish "le gustaría intercambiar números?" which is would you like to exchange numbers. And I just hand the phone over. Google translate from there via texting. Not sure how good korean google translate is but spanish one is spot on.
Never wwent out at night...no need to with how effective daytime was. Literally 1 for 5 on approach to lay ratio.

I didn't think the "Get Hung" guide would have girls eyeing my bulge. It did.
I didn't think that your exercise and diet advice would have girls checking me out. It did.
I DEFINITELY didn't think that your hair-loss prevention would fix my hairline. Not in a billion years. It mother fucking did. You saved me a crazy amount of time, a ton of money, unnecessary pain, and destroyed my #1 source of anxiety. DESTROYED IT.
