Chris asked me to start a new thread about me getting into shape and ripped up!
So this is where I am at, at the moment. Height: 6'1" Current Weight: 264lbs My goal weight is 190-195 lbs. My diet is currently very shitty. But I have kicked any and all soda's and sugar type drink's. All I have been drinking at the moment is water and coffee every 2 to 3 days. all depends on how long I have been in the studio for. edit: If I can get to this and ripped up without having to use steroids that would be the best. |

Hey PTB I'm sure chris is going to be able to help you major with this but as a serious endurance athlete I've spent my whole life keeping my body fat in the 4% range very consistently, Just to give you a quick rule of thumb for what I did to keep fat off (keep in mind I've never been overweight just stayed very lean for running) The soda's is a great idea, also stay away from juices like orange juice and what not they are calorie heavy, personally I stayed away from all fat that was solid at room temperature i.e. butter, sour cream, milk,(the cream in milk, which is the fat, is solid at rt when separated), I drank skim milk instead, I stuck to a diet strictly of fish and sometimes chicken, never any read meat, (beef, pork), I ate lots of vegetables and fruits, and quit using most condiments like ketchup and ranch, I ate lots of salads and instead of dressing I would just use olive oil and some balsamic or red vinegar, I also changed any breads, rice, or pasta I ate to whole wheat, the body has to use more energy to digest whole wheat and whole wheat filled me up much faster then white breads, pastas, or rice. So you tend to eat less of whole wheat and burn more calories digesting it. Hope that helps bro I'm on the opposite journey to gain weight ha ha funny how that works

Yeah, good thread, I'm gonna be paying close attention to this one. I'm in a similar boat myself, although I have lost a bunch of weight over this past year, I'm still not lean and ripped. There's a lot I still need to learn too.
Personally speaking, a couple things that have helped me: Protein shakes as a meal replacement. I'll add stuff to them too like pasteurized egg whites, Greek yogurt, 1/3 of a banana, and oddly enough fiber powder (like Metamucil Clear & Natural). Very filling, helps you shit. Another thing I can't live without is a steamer. A lot of my meals consist of a protein (chicken/turkey breast, steak, tuna, etc) and a fuckload of steamed vegetables, also filling and low calorie. I'll usually only dress them with olive oil and lemon juice, touch of salt. Looking forward to reading about your progress.. |

I am not really sure yet..... My studio partner and room mate has Insanity and P90x and since I don't have all the time in the world to hit up a gym. I was going to try those workout programs see what it can do for me. A guy I really look up to and talk to a lot has done nothing but those programs with insane results.
