Down to 331.8 from 340 about 2 weeks ago. A little over 8lbs.
Been eating low/no carb since last Wednesday. Going to the gym regularly and then I moved Saturday and Sunday (making sure to do a lot of it before I ate any food to make it a fasting workout).
Pants are down almost one size.
Yesterday I did an upper body circuit:
Bench: 165x10x5 sets
Pulldowns: 135x10x5 sets
Row: 135x10x5 sets
Pullovers: 135(sometimes 90, some asshat took one of the weights off and I didn't notice for a while)x10x5 sets
Overhead Press: 90x10x5 sets
Triceps pulldowns(rope) 90x10x5 sets
curl, bar, hammer, alternating, etc, anywhere from 50-70lbs per handx10x5 sets (all inclusive)
Then I woke up this morning and did a shitty 5 min on the eliptical. There is no AC at the gym at my hotel and it was sweltering and I was exhausted from moving this weekend + the intervals last night. I'll do more cardio this evening.
This is all just diet and working out. I should really add some fat burners, etc. I have some BCAA stuff that I take before/during workouts to avoid burning muscle.
I should have some ephedra on the way. Anyone have luck with green tea, hydroxycut, etc?
I use Black Widow. A 90 count bottle is about 27 bucks which brings the price to about 30 cents a pill (or day).
It works with side effects worth noting: Jitters depending on if I take it with an empty stomach, erectile dysfunction is common with ephedra, the "energy" can be helpful or cause me to walk around with a constant internal monologue and get nothing done as I'm essentially talking to myself. It's not good if you have intellectual work that needs to get done, but I can see it working for staying awake and doing manual labor, or driving all night, or whatever.
It sometimes works a bit too well as it lasts awhile. Don't take it if you need to go to bed in the next 12 hours.
With Black Widow, I have to force myself to eat as I'm not really hungry. Once I start eating, I can eat as much as I want, I just have to remind myself to consume food as it's easy to get mentally distracted (internal monologue).
Leveled off last week and still at 332. Grr. I had 2 cheat days on Friday and Saturday (out with friends, andI have done low-carb in the past and found that sometimes you just needed to change it up). Didn't gain from the cheat so lets hope it will make me drop this week. If not I'll have to figure out how to get my shit moving again.
upper body workout, done as a circuit (almost no rest between sets, exercises done one after another then go down the list again)
wide pulldown: 150x10x3, 135x10
overhead press: 160x10, 90x10 - machine was in use so went to dumbells
shoulder fly/raise 30x10x2, 35x10
breakfast: eggs with some (very little) salsa/hot sauce & cheese
Lunch: chicken caesar salad, pretty big
dinner: same deal, medium caesar salad.
Today (annoyed at lack of weight loss/plautaeu):
Breakfast: 3 ham medallions about 1.5 inches wide (like circles cut out of a big piece) and about 3mm thick.
Lunch: medium chicken caesar salad. No extra dressing this time.
Dinner: probably another salad since I like those and they are free at my hotel.
Is there a problem with eating this much salad? if I don't I end up shitting bricks (painful!) from the protein levels without matching fiber.
It is a bit tough to know exactly what's wrong. For example... what does "eggs" mean? 3? 4? 5? Are they cooked with butter? Does that salsa have sugar in it somewhere? How much cheese? How much chicken exactly is on those salads? How much dressing? Those meals look like you're barely eating just by reading them... but I KNOW something is wrong with your diet. It doesn't make sense to not lose weight unless you're not accounting for some snacks or drinks or something. At 330 lbs, you can probably take in like 3000 calories with exercise and still lose a good amount of weight. I'm doing the ketosis stuff now to see what it's about, so I'm doing 65% fat in my meals. If you do too much protein without fat, that protein will be converted into glucose via gluconeogenesis. If you don't do enough fat, you aren't doing ketosis. You are just doing high protein. Soooo, you're kind of not taking advantage of doing low carb if you aren't taking in a lot of fats.
For example, my breakfast... 4 eggs, 5 slices of bacon, 16 grams of olive oil, spinach, and 40 grams of LF cheese (probably will switch to normal cheese once this is done). That's 666.5 calories and ~50g of fat (67.1%). I lost 7 lbs last week (down to 203) even though I stopped taking the Ephedra pills.
How is your heart rate when you're working out? Make sure your rest between different exercises in the circuit is very small... like 30 seconds. Don't let the heart rate drop. I still say it is way easier to just jump on a treadmill, stair master, elliptical, or jump rope. You can't go wrong with straight cardio to burn off fat. And you can't build muscle and lose weight man. Sorry, but it's not going to happen unless you have some amazing genetics. To effectively build muscle, you need a caloric surplus... to burn fat you need a deficit. There is no point in trying to double it up unless you take some roids.
That's my advice without knowing all the details. The simplest way to see it is to count your macros. Find your maintenance and then eat less than that.
