I'm 18 years old and started my first bulk in late December, I weighed in at 157lbs. I started meal prepping so as to ensure I'm bulking on a surplus and eating clean foods. I had a rough idea of what I was consuming per meal, and now I plan on cutting some weight. I have just worked out all of the calories I was consuming for the 3 months, to find out I was only consuming 2800 calories.
This is what I was eating, if anything sounds off or if it looks as if I worked something out wrong, please tell me. I honestly don't know how I gained weight if this was all I was consuming;
- Chicken (250g); 265kcal
- Pasta (130g); 201kcal
- Pesto (20g); 62kcal
- Large Banana; 100kcal.
- Brown Rice (100g); 358kcal
- Chicken (250g) w/breadcrums, used full fat greek yogurt; 466kcal.
- Sweetcorn (80g); 74kcal
- French Bun w/ham
- Handful of strawberries, blueberries, blackberries and 2 oranges.
Disclaimer; I was also drinking this mass gainer shake that was roughly 700/800 calories, I was gaining way too much weight too quickly though. I was putting on 5/6lbs every week so most of this was fat, so in early March I decided to cut out the shake, and I was still gaining about a 1lb of bodyweight a week. I weighed myself today and have stalled @178.6lbs.
Should I have kept on drinking the shake? I feel like I was gaining way too much and too quickly, and when I cut it out I was still gaining weight just a lot slower.
How was I still gaining weight w/2800 calories at 6ft? Should I cut now or keep bulking? I feel like cutting a bit now but I'm not sure.
