Basically I've been coming across a lot of information on macros etc. I have always followed the body building scene, so my dieting habits are a bit extreme. Ive attached some information about the diet Ive been using. I am just curious to how important fat is for weight loss. I am way below my recomended caloric intake for weight loss, but my protein and carbs are right where I want them to be. The low calories are due to lack of fat. Is this killing my weight loss? helping? or does it not really matter? I feel fine and test regularly with ketone test strips, so I have not been in a state of ketosis. I respond well to low carb, but my food choices appear too strict when I look into some info online, because people are saying more calories are important.
If you want to do keto you need fat. Less meals farther apart and low carbs will drive keto, but you need fats to fuel it. Otherwise that protein will be used for energy. Or worse you will lose muscle.
Guessing your 20g is probably from animal sources?
Easiest way is 2tbsp extra virgin olive oil on your chicken or homemade greek/italian dressing on a salad, again basically 2 tbsp olive oil with some herbs and vinegar.
And if you havent seen my protein shake post. I hit 80g just from adding avacado oil, coconut milk, and nut butter. So easy.
