My gym has recently reopend with social distancing in mind. Really want to improve my squats and deadlifts. I used to be able to deadlift 425 and squat 330 but pulled my back in college lifting hungover. I went too hard on my last set of deadlifts and felt the worse pain in my life three years ago. Now I am in a lot of pain and my form suffers because of the discomfort. I can barley deadlift over 280 and can barely squat over 200 pounds. Went out and tried jiu jitsu and could feel the injury when I was sparring. Should I see a chiropractor or do some foam rolls? I'm extremely insecure about those lifts especially when I see younger kids hitting near my max.

Put the ego to the side and go get checked out by a doctor, that's what you do.
Girls don't care what you can lift, only how you look. It's not worth getting hurt just because of your ego to be stronger than others at your gym. Some injuries can last the rest of your life. In the meanwhile, aat a proper diet to maximize fat loss, stretch a lot, and when you resume training, warm up adequately and move up in weight slowly. Focus on reps. |

^agree 100%. deadlifts are utterly useless for 99% of the gym population. the deadlift is an ego lift. squats are okay. but you don't need lots of weight on the squat. do 5 sets of 10 with 200 lbs, with 90s rest, if you have no pain. should give you a decent pump. try out the leg press machines see how you feel. just get a pump bro.
but in general you don't need big weights to get big. even as a natty. you need a burn, pump and lots of MEAT. i dont give a fuck what anyone else thinks about this claim. dc7's opinion about big weights. look at his training vids on youtube. he lifts beginner weights and is jacked. he doesn't even use that much gear. for example shrugs with two 45lbs plates. LOL.

Thanks for the advice, I completely cut deadlifts out of my routine. I've brought my squats down to 170lbs, focusing on proper form and applied some cbd cream. Definitely feel a lot better. Kind of funny I was lifting light today and this cute girl didn't seem to care at all. She seemed to be checking my out the whole time. Definitely will start putting my ego to the side. That brought my confidence up.

I watched the video of the guy with the bench press. Look I know this guy is a GLL guy, he's swole, but hes not really right here. I have no reason to believe him considering the motion he gave for bench press is not how you're suppose to actually bench.
He used a fly type motion instead of pressing motion. If that's the reason he's uncomfortable doing bench then it makes complete sense, he's doing the exercise wrong. Vid i'm using for referencing a correct bench press |

I didn't think the "Get Hung" guide would have girls eyeing my bulge. It did.
I didn't think that your exercise and diet advice would have girls checking me out. It did.
I DEFINITELY didn't think that your hair-loss prevention would fix my hairline. Not in a billion years. It mother fucking did. You saved me a crazy amount of time, a ton of money, unnecessary pain, and destroyed my #1 source of anxiety. DESTROYED IT.
