I'm very new to training but is there anything wrong with going straight into an advanced training program like training your body parts 3x a week. working out 6x a day?
If i'm going to start from a very small weight and slowly progress with it. should be fine right? Anyone recommend a program that does this style training method? I keep seeing people talk about it but I don't know exactly what written programs say it. |

The best training program is the one you stick to.
And that's why most people don't recommend jumping straight into 6 days a week. You said yourself, "I'm new to training" - if you don't even have a habit of going to the gym 3 days a week, are you going to stick to 6 days a week? Not to mention you haven't trained your "recovery" yet - 6 days a week is brutal (and probably overkill) when you're a total newbie. I'd build a habit of 3x a week FIRST, and then when you've done that for 3+ months, add more days. Jumping straight into 6 days a week is playing on hard mode. But, it's your life - you're an adult who can make his own decisions. Also, welcome. -Andy Andy / 32yo / Australia

Do you reccomend a 6 day a week program that is tried and true that incorperates 3x body, I did many years ago do 5x5 progression for 1.5 years straight. But i had a friend that did a bro split same time, and he had significant more hypertrophy than me.We both took gear at the same doses and he was a skinny hard gainer. I was much stronger and because I did ass to grass my vertical jump was amazing and I was also alot faster for some reason. I'm trying to wrap my head around a good 6 day workout session that does 3x body part. |

People have different genetics, no reason to compare yourself to your friend.
As far as programs go, i would not recommend a split if you arent benching 225+, squatting 315+ etc. Do 5x5, or even better, do starting strength by mark rippetoe. Thats has been the consencus on bodybuilding.com for a while now |

Its not about me or my friend, its about trying to gain knowledge of a good hypertrophy program. I saw studies where there was a 4kg difference in musscle mass based on the training method. Was looking to see who does a 6 day workout routine here.

You just ignored what I wrote.
I gave you my recommendation. If you don't want to follow it, you don't have to - but don't literally ignore my advice then ask me the exact same question. That's rude as hell. Andy / 32yo / Australia

No clue. Lifting has been my religion for the last 2 years and I've barely missed any time off. And right now I'm noticing gains from doing pushups/pullups and 1 legged squats in a park for an hour 3-4 times a week.
You will make gains doing 6 days a week training but personally I'd do 3 days heavy and 3 days very light mobility work. All depends on u though u could be a 225lb monster that just heals faster you have to get to know yourself and what works for you. At the end of the day 3 days a week vs 6 days a week doesnt really matter what makes you improve is consistency with training and diet and pushing yourself in the gym. You need to decide what's realistic for you as I've trained 6 days a week for 2-3 hours making the most of cardio and sauna during cuts and becoming obsessed with it but I had a lot of motivation. If you're asking me... Do 3 days a week full body kill it on all 3 days and then do cardio/yoga/flexibility work in between to keep it interesting. Doing 6 weights workouts a week can get tedious. must lift more

I didnt ignore you, I did tha program before, I was asking if anyone new about 6 day split type program, its in the title. you don;t have to give me the info if you don't want to. I wasnt asking what program you think is best for me. I was asking about a specific style of program to understand That one know. I already know mark rippltetoe 5x5 starting strength. What I want ot know more about was what the 6 day split was. You are the one ignorning what I asked. Like starting strenght is a program, right. its a book you can read it. So what is a prgram name for doing it 3x a week 6 day split. you just said build habbit lol. |

Im saying dont think your friend made massive gains because he was doing a different program then you. People have different genetics.
The concensus @ bodybuilding.com, 4chans /fit/ section, etc is that a strength training program is best for a beginner. The more weight you put up the bigger your muscles are going to be. Then when you are at heavy weights, you can focus on splits. Until then just do starting strength |

The disadvantage of using an advanced routine as a beginner is that you won't make as fast of a progress. As a beginner you won't need as much, nor will you be able to recover from as much volume. You will also be able to make much more rapid increments in training weights compared to an advanced individual. It's easy to double your bench press in your first year of training, and an advanced routine would not accommodate that. Advanced individuals will be lucky to add 10lbs to their bench in a year, because as you get stronger and more advanced, the gains slow down and the programming will have to be adjusted accordingly.
A beginner will benefit the most from learning a few basic exercises well and progressively overloading them. The reason advanced programs are rarely found on the internet is because an advanced individuals know how to compose them by themselves, and the programs are individually suited to only them - there's no such thing as a one-size-fits-all cookie cutter advanced program. 6x per week works, but you have to take it real easy in the beginning - much easier than you would think - in order to get acclimated to it. Right now I'm training 6x per week with some of the muscle groups 3x per week but some only 2x. |

I didn't think the "Get Hung" guide would have girls eyeing my bulge. It did.
I didn't think that your exercise and diet advice would have girls checking me out. It did.
I DEFINITELY didn't think that your hair-loss prevention would fix my hairline. Not in a billion years. It mother fucking did. You saved me a crazy amount of time, a ton of money, unnecessary pain, and destroyed my #1 source of anxiety. DESTROYED IT.
