I grew up fat during adolescence, was a skinny boy but parents saw sports as dangerous and fed me a high carb diet, keeping away from a lot of sports in my youth. Never looked good without a shirt on my entire life.
Lost a few after high school but have mainly been in the 25-30% BF range, looking somewhat normal without a shirt on but hideous with it off. Seem to get a lot of fat around my stomach and chest area (have moobs unfortunately).
Currently stand at like 5'11, weigh 180 lbs or so (fluctuates between that and 176), and BF is anywhere from 25-30%. Probably even a little over 30% based on pics of bodyfat percentage estimates I have seen.
I want to be built like David Gandy or an MMA fighter type of body, wonder if it is possible at this age. I hear them say after a while your body gets so used to what you have done through life that fat cells, make it impossible to get fit.
I am not a scientist, but one just need some common sense to tell you: No it is not (I hope your question doesn't imply an expectation for the opposite answer to stay in the comfort zone; no serious member here wil tell you "Yes it is impossible").
As I was 21 I was also slightly overweight. I started with running and some weight training around this age, and kept these habits until today. I train daily, no exception.
I don't have a killer body (I have unfortunately some bad eating habits), but I think I look decent for my age and have a better body than 98% of other 40 y/o dudes (with full-time job).

You don't need a killer body to get laid. You just need to get to above average, which is easily doable in your mid to late twenties (I'm 27 in January). Obsessing over an elite body is just a fast track to becoming the lonesome bodybuilder Chris talks about

27??? Shit dude you're way too old to achieve any goals, best to give up. 27 is old and gross, your body literally isn't capable of losing weight at this age, and you have zero testosterone so you won't be able to gain muscle/strength either.
(This is sarcasm - I'm 32 and only started hitting the gym about age 29. Only started getting laid properly aged 28. It is never too late, and 27 is fucking young dude. Cracks me up when a 20-something thinks they're "old". We're not old til we're in our 50's.)
