I signed up for the gym last weekend, my goal is to go at least 2-3 times a week. Today i went to the gym and i benched today a 100 lbs(lame i know). How many week does it take youre body to get used to the weight before you can add additional plates?
Normaly you should be in some ranch for the kind of training you are doing. FOr endurance it 13 to 30 repetitions, hypertrophy it 6 to 12 rep and force 1 to 6 rep. For endurance you repeat the rep 1 to 3 time, hypertrophy it 3 to 5.... So if you do hypertrophy you try to keep your rep around 6 to 12. If after your last rep is over 12 rep you should had weight. Every work out you should try to give more rep so after time you put more weight to keep in the right ranch....

You should be fine for a couple months. You will plateau but not in the way that someone that has been lifting for a year would plateau. So for the first 2-3 months you will add weight to your lifts EVERY WEEK. Around the 2-3 month mark, you will only be adding weight EVERY WEEK. This is still good progress though and you should be fine as long as you're sleeping well enough and eating enough.
