This is good stuff right here I think you are spot on with that information. Another question I have is since my strength is above average for my size for example my bench max at 6'2 170 was 225 a year ago and I've gotten way stronger since then it's probably 235-240 now do you think I would be able to put on muscle faster than a person the exact same height weight and body fat percentage that is a lot weaker than me or does it not matter? |

In general comparing one person to another in terms of strength or size is not a 1:1 lb to lb correlation.
However increasing your own strength does increase potential mass. However conditioning for max lifts vs max hypertrophy is quite different. Volume as time under tension with moderately heavy weight is what makes hypertrophy. Muscles respond well to stretching and contractng hard under constant tension. 1Rm doesn't matter much. In other words, if conditioned for hypertrophy your 4 rep max is essentially the same as your 1 rep max. Conversely, if conditioned for strength 1rm might be 10-15% heavier than 4rm. But If conditioned for hypertrophy You can do more reps at 70-80% 1rm. Brute strength reps are explosive and reps for hypertrophy are deliberately pausing at full stretch and peak contraction and slow on the negative. |

That's pretty much what I'm trying to say as I've been strength training my whole life pretty much and not for hypertrophy unintentionally. I thought the general rep range of 8-10 or 8-12 was all bs since I was gaining strength. Ever since about 5 months ago I've been training for hypertrophy but I just didn't know that since my strength is higher than normal for my size and can use heavier weights for hypertrophy sets if I would put on muscle easier than if I was weaker at the same size. |

I think muscle memory is real. The fascia has already been stretched to that limit that it was at your peak, so filling back out isn't as hard as it was the first time, typically. In my experience, any time I have had surgery or have had some situation arise that stripped muscle off of me, I regained it back with relative ease once I got serious again.
