I have been out at the club 2 times this year, which is not enough in fact, its worthless. So from now on I will hit the club every weekend. But I know that i will become very fatigued if im still going to hit the gym 5-6 times per week.
So I was thinking that I could get away with 3 a week, and still get good results. My goal body isnt really to become a body builder or something like that, I'd like my body to look something like this:
Probably wont require too much effort as its not that much mucle mass.
Anyway, how would you guys do if you would hit the gym 3x a week, and still get good gains?
I feel like I remember that guy looking a lot more ripped in that image...
Anyways, what are your current stats? How long have you been lifting? How often are you currently going to the gym as of right now?
Don't take this wrong way... You don't have the right mindset for this.
The mindset of "how do I get optimal results putting in the least amount of effort"... that's not the mindset of someone who has a definite goal in the gym that they want to achieve.
More importantly... that's not how winners think. Winners do everything they can to get what they want... they don't try to skim along the way.
It's tempting to think that way and rely on that game plan but you're just skimming on yourself in the long run.
There's really a big misunderstanding that people fall into thinking that if they train like a bodybuilder they're going to look like one. That's not true. If you don't have the genetics/choose to avoid PED's, you won't look like a bodybuilder... even if you train like one.
So why not just bust your ass in the gym and give it 100% instead of seeking ways to achieve your goal with minimal effort aka "how few workouts can you get away with."
This is not an attack or me being a dick so don't take it the wrong way.... everything I wrote was meant to help you out.
I'll discuss something like this pretty soon, based my experience of only working out maybe 25 times all last year. You can see from the youtube videos that I actually lost weight and it a lot of ways - look better.
All I did was party 2009-2010... and I maintained a good body. Often eating dirty fucking pizza on the nights that I didn't get girls back to my apt.
Off hand - i'd say 2 workout a week. Full Upper Body, Full Lower Body.
it's actually not the training that is most important during this period -- it's your hormone levels (test levels, hgh production and TSH - thyroid) and diet that can keep you lean and looking good.
A guy could workout 6 days a week - but if his hormones levels aren't high-normal -- he won't look better than guy that hits it hard 2-3 days a week. (diet being equal)
What Sonny is saying is true though - gotta pay your dues, earn the muscle [memory], so one day you can get more efficient results from less effort.
in 2010 I stayed about 220lbs at 10% -- pretty ripped at pool parties... but a lot of that is because I put in a decade of training and my body will respond very well (muscle memory) to minimal training.
Years ago I would have criticized the "bare minimum" attitude... but once gym/physical fitness isn't your #1 goal -- its important to be efficient and get the most results out of the least time...

Well, 5-6 work out days is too much to begin with. I would dare say even 4 is overkill. Rest is important for working out. Work out 3 days a week, when you're advanced or want to maintain, you can probably get away with 2. I've made beginner gains working out 2 days a week too. Find a gym by your job or house, with some effort, you can really streamline weightlifting into your life. Just don't get screwed in another way, like me, thinking about all things gym too much. lol
You can get away with 1 whole body workout a week to not lose muscle mass (when not using steroids) . If you really want to gain muscle mass you will have to do whole body workout 2 times a week (or more if you want).
In my whole life (I will be 21 in 2 days) , I have only done whole body workouts. I have been working out for 3 years.
This was my body after 2 years of working out (2 times a week whole body workout ; maybe 13% bodyfat; 15 inch arms)
(Now- after 3 years of working out I have 13% bodyfat; 17 inch arms (But I have been working out only one time a week for some time now to just not lose muscle mass) )
Cut down to rock hard 92 kg (currently: 102 kg)
Bang 3 very hot girls 3/3 DONE
Get 3 awesome tattoos 0/3
Stick with one job DONE
Master three Lamb of God songs on guitar
Get first tattoo 0/1
Get laid twice from cold approach or Tinder 0/2
Cut down to 90 rock hard kg (currently:102 kg)
Heal Reflux and stomach ulcers
Improve fashion style
Going about it the wrong way especially if you haven't been training long, you should be working out to reach your goal, once you have reached your goal you can hit the gym less to maintain, that guys physique is not very good IMO, girls like him cous of his face not necessarily his physique, he'd get just as many girls, skinny with zero muscle. I doubt you'll achieve what you want with the mentality you have right now, can't expect to work below average and get above average results unless your on steroids even then it would be a waste.
