Option 1)
Stay in Philadelphia where I work the same job I've been out for the last seven years in which I have lots of respect and status and pull home about 80 thousand a year ( but is fucking boring as slowly sapping my soul away ) I have a great apartment with good logistics and could probably make a killing with chicks now that I'm getting the hang of GLL option 2) take my savings (about 17 grand) and travel around south east asia for a while - and really look in to making some money online / have an epic adventure but then risk coming home with no job and no money ![]() I'm torn and I need to make a decision by sunday (my lease runs out) I know I could have a great year here in philly and have a lot of security …..but I crave adventure and the unknown. I'll be 34 years old soon ![]() What do you guys think Thanks! |

You're still young with money in the bank.
Go. That's it. We have an abundance of everything but time. "What we do for ourselves dies with us. What we do for others remains and is immortal."

You've go the luxury of having a job that's paying you a lot of money so what I'd do is cut down your living expenses to a bare minimum, give yourself a cut off date of 6 months to a year (maybe even buy your plane ticket to make it real), carry on working for those 6 months to a year and save pretty much all the money you earn so you have an extra 25-70k in the bank, then go.
That way, you can enjoy your travels without a looming though of what you're going to do when they're over being in the back of your head the whole time because you're not going to run out of money for the next few years. Forget the making money online bit to begin with, you won't be serious about it, just travel and have fun then settle down and focus on that. Alternatively, get it going and launch a site before you leave that you've set all the foundations for so it's fairly simple to do your updates and doesn't take too much thinking when you're on the road. I've done a kinda similar thing to you and quit my job a month ago, went to the USA for a couple of weeks and am off to Asia in 3 weeks and it feels pretty amazing so make it happen ![]() |

Go for it. If you really do have "lots of respect and status", and shit hits the fan in Asia and you have to return to the states, you'll probably be able to get another solid job.

Stay here in the States making big bucks and enjoying those good logistics. Smash a bunch of pussy. Think about it - would you rather stay here in the states and conquer top notch American pussy or go to asia. Sure in Asia women might throw themselves at u because you're rich and white but would it really feel the same? Not to me. I'd rather go after the big fish

I think you should go for it.
I'm not white but make good money for my age. I'm thinking of getting one of those telecommuniting jobs so that I can live anywhere I want in the world and still make decent money. You white guys are so lucky. |

"Asia" is not one monolithic culture. You are thinking of some southeast Asian countries.^ Souteast Asia is cheap and fun and you can live well on a little. I have a few friends living in Thailand now. Watch out for girls who do throw themselves at you...enjoy yourself but don't take anything seriously. A lot of girls will be trying to play several dudes for their money. It is kinda what they gotta do, because life fucking sucks for them over there. You can also become an ESL teacher in Korea and get paid, get health insurance and an apartment and be surrounded by the hottest girls on earth. www.goodlookingloser.com/forums/general-...t-with-photos#160742 It's less freedom, but it will get you to Asia and then you can make an online company and retire a year later (like my friend who is in Thailand now just did) . Taiwan is another option for ESL teaching. I fucking love living over here (in Korea). Nothing has been better for my soul, smarts, or sex life. |

Why not just take a month or 2 off and see how you like it?
How transferable is your job skill set? If you achieve your current income by becoming indispensable at your current company, does that mean you hold the same value at any other company? Meaning if you take 1 year off, can you come back and get the same pay at another company. Why do you want to take a year off? Boredom? Want to escape? Those a legitimate reason, but usually after a month vacation, you'll want to get back to work. Seeking freedom, greener pasture? Not unreasonable either. I've been thinking about it too. What about friends or social circle? I've kind of established a small social circle in my city. Can you quickly establish a social circle wherever you go and make friends easily? At 34y/o you are falling out of the hostel age group. You can definitely still do the hostel and couch surfing thing. I am older, I still socialize through hostel (not in a while) and couch surfers. Kind of lost its flavor for me though. Good luck! Keep us posted. I am thinking of living in Easter Europe for one or 2 months myself. |

Thanks for the responses guys.
Unfortunately, I wouldn't hold the same value at another company. I'm sure I could get another sales job, but the one I have is VERY cushy because over time I've inherited all the major accounts which is where my bread is buttered. And yea boredom and wanting to escape are definitely two big parts of it. Fear of my youth slipping away without doing a lot of cool shit, freeing up time to see and learn new things. Also, the winter up here is brutal and being on a beach in january is pretty enticing. But yea, I suppose you're right it could get boring. I definitely feel resistance to quit but hard to know whether or not to listen to it

I didn't think the "Get Hung" guide would have girls eyeing my bulge. It did.
I didn't think that your exercise and diet advice would have girls checking me out. It did.
I DEFINITELY didn't think that your hair-loss prevention would fix my hairline. Not in a billion years. It mother fucking did. You saved me a crazy amount of time, a ton of money, unnecessary pain, and destroyed my #1 source of anxiety. DESTROYED IT.
Kratom is next!
