But from my understanding Bitcoin got a "first mover" advantage that is likely to be retained for a long time, therefore other cryptocurrencies are of marginal importance. The best move being to invest 90% in bitcoin and 10% in other with hopes that they might blow up in the future.

And there has been no hard crashes in the currency from what it seems.
However, BTC have also been growing at a pretty quick rate, and are a more stable currency, so I suggest start with that.
Nice. However the poster is asking about long-term holding. In my opinion, it's better to start with Bitcoin and then invest maybe 10% into other crypto-currencies, although I don't trust other crypto-currencies for the long run. I guess it's trial and error.
Agree with that. Although I'm not an expert in investments, I feel that eth is relatively new and has no "proven track record" (whatever the technical term for that is).
Bitcoins on the other hand, although have diminished in value quickly every x time, have been increasing consistently in value over the 3 years (and hugely so in last year where they went from $300 / btc at spring to almost $2k/btc this spring).
So, if bitcoins have a collosal yearly ROI and a proven track record that they will not depreciate in a few days, why go with riskier currencies?
Unless you have more of a gambling mindset like me, of course
You are correct. I just can't imagine projects like this growing in value over time. It seems to me that with this sort of niche virtual coins you can buy some when they JUST appear and then sell them back after 2 weeks. Usually new coins grow for a week or 2 just out of people's curiosity but then either stagnate or lose value.
The only currency worth holding long-term right now is BitCoin. The other coins are for short-term holding at best IMO.

I didn't think the "Get Hung" guide would have girls eyeing my bulge. It did.
I didn't think that your exercise and diet advice would have girls checking me out. It did.
I DEFINITELY didn't think that your hair-loss prevention would fix my hairline. Not in a billion years. It mother fucking did. You saved me a crazy amount of time, a ton of money, unnecessary pain, and destroyed my #1 source of anxiety. DESTROYED IT.
