Hey everyone,
I reviewed Krishna's basic style guide and did my best to put together some outfits that HOPEFULLY will be decent. I understand I have a lot of work to do and need to reconfigure a lot of things. Since I have lighter skin and my hair is somewhat on the medium/lighter side, though not light (blonde), I figured I'd grab some light colored pants (I've never bought a pair of pants this light before) and pair them with this shirt and my vans shoes. However, this shirt has a yellow tone to it and isn't as white/cream as i thought it was when i bought it. I will make another post to continue this one since I can't post any more files in this post. NOTE: The photos are out of order, but I feel like the light colored pants pair well with the gray shirt (should be 3rd and 6th photo) a lot more than the white/yellowish shirt (which are the last 2) |

Those shirts are too baggy. Try a size smaller.

I forgot that I wore the white shirt the other day and haven't washed it yet. I think that may be why it looks baggy. But I also think a medium will be too tight around my shoulders and neck. I'll give it a try though. Thanks. |

Shirts are frickin' huge on you (around your midsection) - looks like you're wearing a potato sack. They're like 3 sizes too big, my dude.
Get a MUCH smaller size - if a medium or small is too tight around your shoulders/neck, then find a different style of shirt. Different shirts/brands will fit differently. The shirts themselves also look horrible - especially the blue one. A "breast pocket" just screams "nice guy". Keep trying different styles though - improving your style is just a process of trial and error, making slow gradual improvements each time you try on a new outfit.

I understand you're providing honest feedback, but it makes me sad to hear that they look horrible though. Especially because I thought I was on the right track/getting somewhere (getting away from the skate shirts/skater look that I usually go with). I should also mention: I think I'm naturally going for more of a clean cut look, just looking good, without going off into the "nice guy" or the "player" look. I know that the player thing is stressed a lot here. Also, I get the breast pocket thing. I thought about that too....it makes me look like I could even be gay. But the other shirts I think are decent. However, at this point, I'd say I'm completely lost. I've tried to figure out what would be a cool look and I don't know where to start. Even after reading through the style guide a bit, I really don't have a clue. Do you have any suggestions besides the size? |

I also wanted to say that for some reason, my midsection sticks out a bit more than normal. I think it's because I'm skinny. I'll try some smaller ones and see how that goes, but since i'm tall 6'1", I don't see myself going below a medium. These were all large. |

Hey man I can tell you’re trying, here are a couple things that jump out at me.
I agree that those shirts look awful, mainly because of the fit. As the others said way too loose. Also not a fan of the style, imo a plain crew neck tee would look better. When I look at the first picture it looks like there’s some sort of lump sticking out up high on your chest and this makes me think that maybe there’s something you’re self conscious about and that’s why you deliberately went for a looser fit. If this is the case then layering is a much better way to address that... but then maybe I’m just seeing things and that goes to show how wack the fit of the shirt is. Also if your midsection is sticking out that’s most likely a postural issue in your case. You can train your tva muscles and practice lightly contracting your abs while standing tall and this will give you a “flat stomach” look. May sound silly but it works and this is how the human body is meant to function. Also, and I’m sure you’ve already heard this, you really need to start packing on some lean mass. So get on that if you’re not already. It’ll make everything fit and look better on you. Set some strength goals for compound lifts and eat at a surplus. Hope this helps. Don’t get discouraged because there’s lots of room for improvement and that’s a GOOD thing! |

Keep your chin up. You've found 2 shirts that don't work, so that's progress.
Go to a few decent clothes stores (I don't know where you live, but try H&M, Zara, TJMaxx, etc) and try on a bunch of different outfits. Post the pics on here (don't buy anything - just post pics of you in the changeroom). Finding your own style is a process of trying on a bunch of shit and seeing what works. Right now we need to just get you ONE outfit that looks really good - then we'll get you a second, third, etc outfit later on. Yes,you need more muscle - you're skinnyfat. You need more accessories - a ring, necklace, cap/hat, bracelets, watch, etc. Try a bunch of stuff (take photos). |

Thank you. For the chest thing, it's just the fit of the shirt that's wacky. I think the reason why I went with bigger/looser shirts is because of my height rather than an insecurity. My chest almost never crosses my mind when trying on shirts. I thought that since I was tall, I would need an XL size or a Large being the smallest, and was even told this at times. As a result, they were baggy and I always wondered why, especially when I looked at other guys' shirts, theirs looked normal. However, I never thought anything was actually wrong with the fit of my shirts. I figured it was just how it was since I was taller than most of them haha I never really learned how shirts are supposed fit even though I thought I knew. I had to have been seriously mislead when I was younger. For the midsection, I think it's definitely a posture issue. Big time. And my core isn't doing very well right now. I need to get started on that too. I really appreciate your advice man. It's amazing how far off I am with all of this. BUT I will do my best to stay positive and make improvements.

A few really important things:
I’m 6’ 1”, 190lbs and I wear medium shirts most of the time, sometimes large. DO NOT DO NOT use the GLL style guides. They are literally style guides from a decade ago. You need to have a big focus on current clothing. It’s better to be dressed boring than to be wearing outdated clothing. Your physique is going to hold you back right now, I’d recommend finding a good jacket, if it’s not too hot where you live. Nothing is gonna look great on you right now, because being in good shape has a huge effect on how clothes look on you. But, you can layer clothing at least. Get a cardigan or something, but most importantly make sure you base your style on 2019 trends. Thanks for everything you guys. It's time for me to move on to bigger things!
So long, and thanks for all the fish! |

I didn't think the "Get Hung" guide would have girls eyeing my bulge. It did.
I didn't think that your exercise and diet advice would have girls checking me out. It did.
I DEFINITELY didn't think that your hair-loss prevention would fix my hairline. Not in a billion years. It mother fucking did. You saved me a crazy amount of time, a ton of money, unnecessary pain, and destroyed my #1 source of anxiety. DESTROYED IT.
