Sorry for the clickbait but fuck, I've been searching high and low for the answer to this question.
How do you tan with the least possible damage to your skin? My goal is to get tan without getting skin cancer or fucking up my tattoos. I have MT2 and use it when I go outside for long periods of time (ie. to the beach). It does work, but I still get a sunburn. Is it better to go outside MORE OFTEN, for SHORTER periods of time with sunscreen? Is it better to cook yourself less often, with no sunscreen? (I've had the best results from this, but I KNOW it's not the best way) Does sunscreen allow any amount of tanning to happen? What SPF should I be using? Should I be using tanning lotion? What about tattoos? I can't simply cover only the tats with sunscreen because I have alot of them. If that's the case I need to have someone else do it because I can't reach a few of them on my back (might be a good approach opportunity at the beach lol) And finally, I have access to tanning beds at my gym. Should I be going in them? Is this a shortcut to getting tan quicker, or is it guaranteed skin cancer and fucked up tattoos? Anyone with any solid info please chime in. I'm pretty white as you can see from my avatar pic. Not looking to be black but some type of tan is something I've struggled with for years, and there's no debate it plays a role in looksmaxing. Thanks in advance!!! 24 Years Old

Gravy Train,
I can answer none of your questions. Sorry. I'm playing the Loser's Game in regards to tanning. (Winner's game being getting a tan and looking great in your youth while sacrificing your skin as you age). I just turned 41 years old and I'm wanting my skin to look its best for the long haul. Ever see an older person that spent their youth tanning? It's not pretty. If I need a tan, which I do get for professional photo shoots, I just use spray on tanning. Get it professionally done. No sunburn. No skin damage. No long hours laying about in the sun when you could be doing something more productive. You can also use various self tanners on the market. They tend to require a bit of trial and error with regards to application. Especially with the face. You might look great or have an Oompa Loompa experience. Trail and error. Other than that, I use moisturizer with SPF in it. Not the answer(s) you needed. Perhaps the answer(s) you need if you want to pick up young women when you're older without being a "creepy old guy." Temporarily unavailable as I need to focus on other areas of my life. Only focusing on no more than two goals at once. Best of luck to you guys.

I tan normally pretty well, so keep that in mind. I can't answer as far as safety or tattoos, but here is my experience with how I tan. From my experience it seem to me that tanning lotion increases the ratio of how much you tan verses how much you burn, though it speed up both processes. If that's true it should be better for skin when done right. My guess is that tanning lotion (I've used the pink diamond that Chris recommends and it works great) plus sunscreen would be optimal for you, but that is just a guess as I usually don't use sunscreen except on my face.
My other recommendation is it's better to undershoot than overshoot how much you tan. If you overshoot you're going to look more tan after a few days but you are going to lose it. I have always felt like shorter, frequent tanning is better than longer, infrequent tanning until you get a solid tan, and then longer tan sessions seem to be more beneficial. Treat it like lifting, you need to work your way up to more volume and intensity. Coconut oil twice per day after tanning seems to help keep the tan better than aloe, but you could use both which is what I do. Aloe first, the coconut oil. Makes you all shinny though. If you drink a few glasses of carrot juice a day you will develop a slight orange glow, which really enhances a light tan. Edit: In a similar vein to what the above poster was saying, the fake face tan Chris recommends works great. I have only used it with a slight base tan, which I think it might need to look right. Use plastic gloves and practice, as it isn't the easiest thing to get right. - By 2020: Reach 190lbs, <18% BF (@ 155lbs est. <10% BF)

Okay. THIS is the answer I need. I'm going to wear sunscreen when going to the beach, then get spray tans every so often. It's gonna be more expensive, but worth it. I've gotten alot of compliments when I'm darker. I've spent the last few years basically hiding from the sun. I'm going to just wear sunscreen more and get a spray tan. I will post up results.
Good recommendation, only issue is the sugar in carrots. I'll look into this. Thanks guys I really appreciate all your answers. 24 Years Old

I didn't think the "Get Hung" guide would have girls eyeing my bulge. It did.
I didn't think that your exercise and diet advice would have girls checking me out. It did.
I DEFINITELY didn't think that your hair-loss prevention would fix my hairline. Not in a billion years. It mother fucking did. You saved me a crazy amount of time, a ton of money, unnecessary pain, and destroyed my #1 source of anxiety. DESTROYED IT.
