I've wanted to get a tattoo on my forearm for a long time. I want to look more edgy, and I have things that I want on my body that hold personal significance to me. The only consideration I have is whether it'll hinder my results with the girls or make me look like white trash. What do you think? I don't wish to seem like boyfriend material anyway, so that won't be a problem.

Depends on what you get and your style doesn't suggest white trash anyway so I wouldn't worry about that part. Everyone has tattoos now, men and women. I've heard men complain about women having tattoos much more than women complaining about men having tattoos. Also, A very artistic piece will likely get better reactions than some tribal tat out of the template book whether you're male or female. Most people appreciate good art.

Tattoos, get one if you actually want one.

If you don't want one though, DO NOT get one just because you think it is something edgy that will get you more ass.

The statement above is more meant for the other guys on this forum who look into tats as a way of "self-improvement".

For you Termi in this situation I'd say if you really want something and it holds personal significance then ya it's probably worth getting. Think it through though, as it will be on you forever (obviously you know that, but still, think about it).

I wouldn't do just the forearm, unless you plan to do a whole sleeve. Almost seems desperate, maybe something more subtle and meaningful. Upper arm that is partially visible with a short sleeve on, chest that is partially visible with a v neck on etc.

Tattoos went from being somewhat less prevalent to being very mainstream in the last decade. In my humble opinion, it's only a matter of time before the trend calms down and tattoos are considered tacky again.

Given that they are permanent (tattoo removal is expensive, painful and not always effective), why not get a temporary tat to see how you feel about it before making a definitive decision?

I agree with super dude. When I was young the only people who had tats were bad asses. Bikers, strippers, guys in prison, servicemen, soldiers. Now fucking soccer moms have tats.

I truly believe they will be out of style sooner rather than later. If I see another guy my age losing his hair with a barb wire tat i'm going to come unglued!

Thanks for clarifying this dude. I am one of those guys, and was wondering this exact thing.

I really don't want ink, but I am gradually learning from you guys that my style is pretty shit and in need of improvement. So I didn't really trust my own judgement on that one.
