I find that the edgiest clothing I rock is usually a black or grey t-shirt, and a leather jacket or something.
However, sometimes when I go clubbing, a collared shirt is required. I'm kinda lost there. An Oxford cloth button down is a nice shirt, but it's too preppy/pretty-boy and not edgy enough. Plaid/gingham shirts are nice but again, they're a bit preppy. And the flannel patterns aren't my style at all. I guess denim shirts could work? Any suggestions? |

Look up G by Guess. They have some decent edgy dress shirts. I think the plaid/gingham is cool.

Just a dark dress shirt with sleeves rolled up will work great. Plain black or a very dark shade of blue works very well. This is also basically what the character Hank Moody does on "Californication and he certainly gives off an edgy vibe. They will also often have him wear a dark blazer over the dress shirt on the show.

Why do you say that a collared shirt is required when you go clubbing? If anything, you'd probably want to stay away from collared shirts while clubbing.

Good suggestions, guys, thanks. Keep 'em coming. I'm thinking something like this.
Some clubs say that a collared shirt is required otherwise they won't let you in. Obviously I'm not the one requiring a collared shirt... |

Go for the black one

Or you can do the full suit look.
THe full-suit (well-dressed) look is edgy, thats what I'm going to push a little more (especially for guys that look young). ITs edgy so long as you go all out (pocket square/rich guy) and don't get stuck in an old man suit/have juvenile accessories. In which case so don't worry too much about the shirt. It will be under a jacket. Black is generally edge by itself, but I suggest wear brighter colors at night. "Edgy" dress shirts (dress shirts with the stitching on the outside) have fallen off in the past few years. Think 'English Laundry', it was in it's heyday when Affilication was popular. NO LONGER COOL (outdated): And Mack is right - Guess and G by Guess are GREAT SUGGESTIONS. IMG at Macy's is good too. Here's one that would be considered edgy- Please no Private Messages. Post thread on with the word "Chris" or "GLL" in it if you absolutely need to get my input. Thank you for your understanding.

That grey shirt is sick. I am going to have to buy that...

Seems like the general consensus is dark (gray, navy, black) shirts and no preppy (white, light blue) colors?

I tend to wear brighter colors at night when I am at bars. My style is not like anyone else's, I standout, in a good way. Next time you're out observe how the majority of dudes dress. Hint: most dress identical; boring and without any edge. Observe how they dress and do the opposite. Trust me, you'll stand out...in a good way. "What we do for ourselves dies with us. Problem is that I don't look masculine at all (baby face even at super low BF%). With bright colors/preppy style, I tend to look young/non-sexual. |

Then go the darker/edgier route.
I'd go with the shirt Chris shared (the grey Guess), paired with black jeans and black casual boots. Add a watch, ring and necklace or two and you'd stand out from 90% of the dudes out. Also, can you grow (decent) facial hair? It does wonders to a "baby face" (which I have too). "What we do for ourselves dies with us. What we do for others remains and is immortal."

I didn't think the "Get Hung" guide would have girls eyeing my bulge. It did.
I didn't think that your exercise and diet advice would have girls checking me out. It did.
I DEFINITELY didn't think that your hair-loss prevention would fix my hairline. Not in a billion years. It mother fucking did. You saved me a crazy amount of time, a ton of money, unnecessary pain, and destroyed my #1 source of anxiety. DESTROYED IT.
