i have read a lot of anecdotal reports on this amino acid...it seems tha vast majority of people that take it report a reduction anxiety while also getting a boost in concentration due to the dopamine release theanine provides.. i just ordered 100 grams from liftmode and the average daily dose is 2-400 mgs...seems like a potent and cheap anti-anxiety supplement with few if any side effects..has anyone taken it and what was the result?
I don't have anxiety issues but I have recommended this to some friends who do. According to them it seems to have mild but positive effects when used at the 400mg+ dosage level.
It's not a miracle drug or anything, just gives a nice calming, focused edge to your mood.
I find it works perfectly with caffeine to take the jittery edge off.
well i got mine in today and even though i took phenibut in the morning i decided to give theanine a try tonight..i took maybe 250 mgs and within a half hour, it took effect..what i noticed was it has strong sedating effect, much stronger than i thought but i dont feel dumb like i do on a benzo..i feel very calm on it and keep in mind, i take phenibut, benzos and gbl on a regular basis so this surprises me..it may have such a strong effect due to the pheni i took earlier i dunno..then i noticed i started to yawn and feel ready for bed so i took 100 mgs caffeine..i could barely feel the caffeine but it kept me from yawning...a half hour later im fighting off sleep AGAIn so more caffeine..i dont feel any intense focus like some do but the calming effect is almost too much...ive heard some PUAs recommend this for AA but it wouldnt work well for me because atm i dont care about talking to women, all i want is a couch..lol..no way is this a workout or sex drug like phenibut eve if combined with caffeine..hell id be lucky to go for a walk around the block on this stuff..seems like it will be a fantastic sleep aid tonight though..
tomorrow will try it without any other gaba drugs flowing in me...so far, im actually quite surprised at how sedating it is..its different than phenibut and benzos which is good and bad..theanine makes me almost indifferent to what is going on around me..again, thats good and bad..definitely need to do more tinkering around with this stuff..
I've never heard of it making people sleepy. Calm, mildly sedated, yes.
Phenibut definitely puts me to sleep though. I'm curious to see what you think of it without pheni or other drugs.
IMO it's barely noticeable unless paired with caffeine, and I can't notice effects at lower doses.
Then again I drink about a half-gallon of green tea every day so I may have a bit of a theanine tolerance...
Eh. I've tried 200 and 400 mg and didn't notice much. People claim it works by slightly reducing anxiety/panic attacks, but since I tried theanine out in a relaxing environment, I can't speak for that. I also tried the 200 mg theanine and 100 mg caffeine combination that is highly preached and did not notice anything of significance.
well with theanine its not what you feel its more about you do not feel, which is anxiety and stress..i take 250 mgs of theanine on empty stomach and half hour later i just feel calmer..there is no mood lift or enhanced focus unless i take caffeine along with it...theanine doesnt make me sleepy now, just relaxes me, i find myself very stress free on it..
when you take caffeine along with theanine, it definitely takes away the anxiousness that comes with caffeine..thats a huge plus to taking theanine..i have yet to get the theanine/caffeine combo down correct yet but there were times i felt it working quite well, the calming yet stimulating effects of the combo..
its just too bad this stuff isnt more of a pro-social supplement, thats what i was hoping it would be..phenibut blows it away in that area..nothing works like phenibut or gbl in terms of making you more social..
