Some of you may already know this, but I have not seen it discussed anywhere in the forum so I figure I will share it.
Years ago when I was studying in the North East U.S. I would get seasonal affective disorder. For those of you who don't know, it is getting depressed in winter because of not enough sun light. So I got a light box and used it for one winter. Now that I think of it, I vaguely remember getting some hard boners during the few weeks I used it.
Anyhow, fast forward 10-15 years.
This freaking winter I was feeling quite down and anxious due to a herniated lumbar disc that happened in November that kept me from working out and a unusually cloudy winter where I don't get any sunlight. After talking to my sister, she told me she still got my light box, so she shipped it to me.
Anyways, been using it for a week now. My mood is definitely better. I still worry about things, but just do not feel anxious when I think about them. Also I was not spiraling into a whirlpool of negative thoughts. But light therapy for depression is pretty well know. The great thing is I started noticing strong morning wood again. And the last 2 nights when I masturbated I had a much stronger ejaculation with a lot more contractions.
This is interesting, I also feel worse emotionally in the winter and have definitely noticed sunlight to be extremely beneficial for my libido as well. I would attribute the effects to increased Vitamin D so I am curious as to how the light would help with libido (not denying that it may)
Btw have you ever supplemented with Vitamin D in the winter?

Very interesting, came across a few Red Light Therapy videos on youtube discussing testosterone boosting effects and also many other benefits such as mood and skin health.Someone should get blood work done before and after using red light therapy to test the anecdotal evidence
@Casp - yeah I try to take more Vit D in winter. Not super high dose thought. Maybe just 1000 u/day. Vit D has a lot of benefits including anti cancer. I probably should up the dose. In summer I try to get more sun!
@Alpha - I did not get a chance to do the experiment. I thought my Testosterone must be low, but I got it checked recently. My total morning level was over 800. My free T is on the lower side, but normal for my age.
Either way I am a firm believer in circadian rhythm. When you wake up you should get some sun. There are experiments in rats where 2 groups of rats got morphine but one got sun light, and the other group did not. The light deprived group died much quicker.
