I'm starting a new telesales job in a week too. The goal is to be the top salesperson there within 3 months. Good luck bro, let's both kill it. |

Ok man, check this out.
I wrote an article about why you should get a job selling cars. I think you read it already. I addressed a few of these things in there. Yes, you're going to have to work more than 40 hours a week. Hell, it will probably be closer to 60 to be honest. You're going to have to come in on your days off. And 9:30? Pfft. There were times I was at the dealership until 12:30 finishing a deal. 8 hour days are for the part timers. You run your own business selling cars. There's no time clock when you run your own business. You've gotta be there when money calls. And 7 cars a month should not be a big deal. At least if you want to make any money. I averaged $350-$400 commission on my deals. Industry standard was $300 last I checked. I'd always try and sell 15-20 cars a month, depending on what month it was. So unless you've got killer instinct, you're totally heartless, and a manager that's gonna turn you into a monster, I suggest you set your sights on more like 20 cars a month to be able to make your 60 hours a week there worth it. The car business will force you to learn how to manage your time properly. I highly suggest you do it. "Ya body is bangin baby. I love the way you flaunt it. Now give it to daddy baby and tell me... how do you want it?"

It's not about hours, it's about results.
There's no easy way to be successful, there's only the hard ways - a brian tracy sales tape I was listening to today. Just to hijack your thread, I started my new telesales job. Made ~100 calls today. And I was rejected ~99 times. And the one that was 'successful' hasn't come through yet and might not. The reason why sales can pay well is it's fucking hard to do, but incredibly valuable. Anyway, give it a shot, if you hate it then at least you will walk away with a new experience. But better to have sold amd failed, than never to have sold at all. |

Good shit! Go kill it! Today I made 130 calls, sent out 4 proposals, and am hoping to actually get some of these proposals back as sales lol. The goal is more like 7 proposals sent but for my 2nd day that's not bad. Still haven't been paid a dime ![]() |

I think one of the best things I can tell you is know your product. You should always be learning new stuff about your cars. Selling is all about taking a feature and turning it into a benefit. The more features you know, the more benefits you'll be able to come up with. It makes sense. Source books and training videos are good but get in the car. Start playing around with all of the different equipment. Grab the owners manual and look through there. During your down time, fuck with the actual car. Your customers are going to teach you a lot about the cars too. Remember, some of them came in there looking at a particular car for a particular reason. They probably know that car better than you do at this point. So it's not a bad idea to listen to them for a bit of an education. (Tell every single person you talk to that you're "new" until you sell them their second car lol its better that people think you're dumb ![]() I used to close deals selling Fords because I'd know all the cool shit to compete with a shitty BMW salesman who didn't know his cars. Who knew having someone drive towards a wall to demonstrate the crazy brake assist feature on an Explorer would steal a deal from an X5? Good thing I knew my product. "Ya body is bangin baby. I love the way you flaunt it. Now give it to daddy baby and tell me... how do you want it?"

Both are equally important. You need to be viewed as an industry expert (know the top 3 model cars you intend to sell inside and out, also know the top 3 competitors for each model) That is a total of 12 cars you should know INSIDE AND OUT. If your jonny on the spot and can tell people exactly why they should buy a car from you (and they should) and you legitimately care about your customers... You will be very successful. Trust me on this, ignore any advice to the contrary.

lol be careful man. that downtime will kill you.
Check out this youtube video That will show you what you've gotta do to sell 30 cars a month. The dudes name is Sean Bradley. He's a g. He's into the 2015 era of selling cars. Some dealerships in the country still don't even have computers. That video will teach you how to make walk around videos for your cars and get them ranked on Google. That way, when people search for a particular car, you'll personally come up. Not the dealership. You can put your cell # in the description and have people contact you directly. And the thing is, videos rank higher on google than text pages. So you could actually out rank your own dealership on google if you do it properly. Check it out. Pay attention. Those guys outside selling football are mediocre salesman. Don't get caught up in that shit. You're there for business. "Ya body is bangin baby. I love the way you flaunt it. Now give it to daddy baby and tell me... how do you want it?"

I didn't think the "Get Hung" guide would have girls eyeing my bulge. It did.
I didn't think that your exercise and diet advice would have girls checking me out. It did.
I DEFINITELY didn't think that your hair-loss prevention would fix my hairline. Not in a billion years. It mother fucking did. You saved me a crazy amount of time, a ton of money, unnecessary pain, and destroyed my #1 source of anxiety. DESTROYED IT.
