Due to the overwhelming response to my last heatmap post (LOL! Just kidding as no one really seemed interested), I thought I'd post the results of changing my last sales page/deal. For those that may remember seeing that last message, I had found out that my long form sales page really was not getting read an I was concerned that I might actually be doing damage to myself when it came to conversions. So, I tightened up the page and reduced the content. The following heatmaps are of the "deal" I just launched this past Friday (and is closing at midnight tonight). At the time these images were taken, the page had gotten about 3,500 page views and about 6,300 clicks. I believe you can click on these images to seem them a little larger.
Here is the page scroll heatmap showing how much of my page users were actually seeing. This is a dramatic improvement. The lighter colors (white, yellow, red, orange) are better. This shows that the lowest viewed sections still come in at about 50%. When it comes to actual clicks on the page, this is how it came out. Of the 3,500+ page views, there was a total of 811 clicks on the buy button...so about 23% of the traffic to the page was clicking on the buy button. I am really becoming a big fan of these heatmaps and the different information you can get out of them. I am working on a little anomaly I found. Maybe I'll post something and see if you guys can help me out. Anyway, just wanted to share. |

I find these to be rather interesting. When you say 800 people clicked buy now, do you mean you earned $50k in less than a week? If so, that's mighty impressive.

lol I read the last thread I just didn't post a reply.
What made you initially decide to have such a long sales page? |

I asked him this same question before and if I remember correctly the "buy" button just brings them to the company that sells the watch's page. He didn't actually get 800 sales. At least I'm pretty sure this is what he said. |

Unfortunately, no...LOL! The buy button takes them to the vendor site to check out. I don't handle any inventory and just make a percentage of the profits from the sales. Not everyone completes the transaction. The deal ends in less than an hour now. So in a day or so I will know what the total conversion rate was. But, I do have a highly motivated niche that I work in. The heatmaps just show me how my page is doing. It is really very insightful. |

Well, when I was doing this gig on TV and selling watches, we were very limited in time and was never really able to dig into alot of the technical details of the pieces we were selling. Alot of the time, for the more expensive watches, it was the little details that accounted for the price (on say a $1,000 watch). In the old days when we could go out there and do $100K to $500K in an hour, we could "sit" on an item and really talk about it. Things changed. So...long story short, I was using the long form sales page to get all of the additional information out there. In addition to that, a more wordy long form sales page allowed me to do alot of on-page SEO too. |

You may be able to still have a lengthy page, just put the call to action closer to the top. Apparently most of your audience didn't care about all the details of the watch though. I'm curious to see how shortening the page will effect your conversion rate. |

But there weren't looking at most of the page and the scrollmap showed me the areas they were interested in, so that is what I paired it down to. |

Question: how do you get the heatmaps function? It looks interesting, and would help find out what people read and not read in webtoons.

You can get a free one at sumome.com I have a payed one (heatmaptracker.com) but I'm sure sumome is good too since I've seen it used by 6-figure marketers.

I didn't think the "Get Hung" guide would have girls eyeing my bulge. It did.
I didn't think that your exercise and diet advice would have girls checking me out. It did.
I DEFINITELY didn't think that your hair-loss prevention would fix my hairline. Not in a billion years. It mother fucking did. You saved me a crazy amount of time, a ton of money, unnecessary pain, and destroyed my #1 source of anxiety. DESTROYED IT.
Kratom is next!
