I just turned 30 and Im good for around 6 million dollars.
During the last 5 years Ive coached a number of people for free on making money. Here are somethings Ive found, that self-help books and gurus seldom talk about. 1. People who dont make money has their brain on IDLE mode. Few people actually use their brain to think. If you use your brainpower to solve business problems 16 hours a day you get pretty smart, skilled and rich fast. Poor/average people waste their brain power on drama, thinking about food, sex, angry thoughts, happy thoughts, dogs, cats you get the point 2. Your intelligence level, I found that people at or below average IQ have a hard time making money. If you are below average iq I advice you to stick to a job (grow a dick and focus on other things in life), if you are average go for something fairly simple and repetitive such as cashflowing real estate, simple business. If you are over 130 in IQ you can try any type of high risk business. Like building a tech unicorn. www.forbes.com/sites/ryanmac/2012/09/24/...t-on-the-forbes-400/ 3. Self-help only gets you so far. While books like Think and Grow Rich are awesome I havent seen any correlation between people reading it and their success. I see people who become naturally good with making money live these principals without being aware of them doing it, they learned it the real way thou. I find that people who only learns about the principals from books never really gets it. Much like reading pick up theory without actually approaching. 4. Hang out with rich people, stay away from poor as if they had ebola. Their presence will infect you without you being aware of it, much like ebola. 5. Once you've got the hang of it you can retire and still make money. I came to that point when I was in my mid 20's. Since then I have hardly worked and my fortune has grown from 1 to 6 mil and Ive given myself an allowance of 10 k per month. 6. Conventional motivation is BS. If you want real motivation, you have to have constant dopamin release attached to small successes, so much that you get addicted to it. Just like playing computer games can be addictive so can business if set up in a similar dopamin rewarding fashion. 7: Successful people only take advice from people they screen first, so they know whether their advice is worth anything. Dumb people take stock advice from their doctor because they have authority 8: Smart people see the business conversation as an opportunity to ask questions and extract as much of valuable information, dumb people talk about themselves and information they already know..

IQ can be trained and is flawed because it doesn't include all factors, provide a better source than Forbes to prove that IQ is positively correlate with higher wealth.

Clue: Youre right, that article makes no sense in there since this is not anything scientific but only my own observation.
Bendenherover: respect to you for asking that question I was the kid how ran around the neighborhood trying to sell books, firewood and xmas tree etc. Then when I was 20 me and myfriend wanted each a long skateboard. To import them from usa to Europe costed a small fortune, so after some searching around the web I found the company in China who made them. I contacted them and ordered 10 for the price two would have costed me from US. (10 was their minimun order) Then I thought what else might be cheaper, so I ended up filling a whole container with stuff. Over the summer I sold the goods and realized I make much more money doing this then my other projects or education. I was in aviation school which I quit after 2 and a half years because I made more money then the best paid pilots while working fewer hours. This was through alibaba.com, the site has got really mainstream, so today its hard to make any big money importing from China, but 10 years ago nobody knew what alibaba was and people did not have the courage to send money to china. Then.... in those days it was good. I had to close down the business 4 years later because it became competitive but then I had already made a good chunk and gone into real estate.

nice good stuff, I definitely wouldn't agree that iq is what makes you rich or not(that isn't what you said anyway) but it probably is a fairly large factor, at least to really stand out(example bill gates).
yeah I agree about china importing becoming mainstream, it's unfortunate as like you said less than a decade ago most people had never heard of sites like alibaba. Index of my legal supplement experiments

The fact that SAT scores are correlated with IQ is BS. I took the SAT twice. The first time I didn't study, the second time I did and scored a few hundred points higher. They use the same types of math problems on every test. If you learn them in advance you will do way better and on the English portion there are certain words (that no one actually uses anymore) that you can learn and score higher on that part. I know people who scored very high and have no common sense at all. They just started studying a year before the test.
I agree that IQ itself is flawed as well. Measuring intelligence is pretty much impossible.

I agree with anything you say, besides the book thing. I wasn't born gifted with the mindset I have today. I inherited a faulty mindset, thought patterns and habits from my depressed dad, resulting in me being depressed, anxious and having intrusive thoughts. Spent all my childhood and teens being a sad little excuse of a man and one of the books that helped me a lot was 7 habits of highly effective people. But the problem is people don't want to change, and when these books don't "work" they blame them. I knew I had to change everything about my mindset if I wanted to become mentally healthy, and I adopted the mindset within the book. It's the same values I live by today. The book was the catalyst, but you're right, I didn't read it and was then suddenly fixed. It literally took years of hard work, daily working on changing the programming within my brain. Difficult as hell, but anyone with the proper motivation could do it. My motivation was that I never wanted to feel like that again, but when I reached "mentally healthy" I didn't stop there, and to this day I keep improving myself. The same reason I feel a burning desire to conquer the world lol. Point is, the brain can be changed and if you started with below average IQ you can increase it. If you want enough. Good post. "Motivation is fleeting and easy to rely on because it requires no concentrated effort to get. Motivation comes to you, you don't even have to chase after it.
Discipline is reliable, motivation is fleeting. The question isn't how to keep yourself motivated, it's how to train yourself to work without it."

I didn't think the "Get Hung" guide would have girls eyeing my bulge. It did.
I didn't think that your exercise and diet advice would have girls checking me out. It did.
I DEFINITELY didn't think that your hair-loss prevention would fix my hairline. Not in a billion years. It mother fucking did. You saved me a crazy amount of time, a ton of money, unnecessary pain, and destroyed my #1 source of anxiety. DESTROYED IT.
Kratom is next!
