It has nothing to do with feminists.  You have a bunch of these creepy PUA's trying to "game" girls at a popular mall. 

These are guys who aren't being taught to max out their looks, but instead to recite a shitload of lines and routines to "game" girls.

I literally saw some guy doing this yesterday at my university in Toronto... kept going up to girls who were walking by in a busy hallway (I was on the phone at the time, watching lol). He kept doing this thing where he took there hand and twirled them around. Saying I'm assuming the same stuff to all of them. It looked awkward most of the time. I noticed he'd scope girls out. He was particularly going after girls that I guess you'd say are conventionally attractive. A lot of times they had a weird look on their face. He seemed pretty casual and not distraught, but this guy was going girl after girl. I was there for like 15 minutes and saw him talk to maybe 7 or 8 girls.
But beasting they're calling it? Takes some balls I guess, but its socially unconventional, thus the weirdness.

Just curious, how does a 'basic guy' look like? Many men in their 20s go to the gym so I assume that is also considered average now.

A lot of the gym guys aren't the ones who are out on the street or mall trying to pick up chicks.  Instead, it's the average or below average guy who gets manipulated by the pick up companies.

Damn. I used to go to PUA meet ups in NYC. In hindsight, scheduling a full day around mass approaching bitches is fucking weird. 

I could do better in a hour at a really popping bar/dance club or at college or at a gym  or cooking class etc...

And PUA people are usually nerdy & have shitty style with terrible social calibration.

Athletic looking types never seem to work so hard at cold approaching & STILL get more pussy than your average PUA person/student.

People really need to use their time more wisely. Shopping at stores for cool threads, deadlifting/squatiing/benching, & doing a social job is way better use of time.

I feel bad for the nerds/geeks. They really need help. Being super smart doesn't help much. In fact, I feel like being super smart only helps if want to be like a doctor or lawyers or  programmers or some shit. You really can't be overall average or below average and expect to win at this game.

It's just the truth. Women are biologocally programmed to only care about the best genes they can sniff out, everyone else is sexually invisible to her.

Pick up art is bullshit. Either the girl is physically attracted to you or not. That's it. Women are drawn to things that look good too you know. Only a delusional fool would think that looks and style for example don't largely determine your results and that you can "build" attraction with wordplay.

The halo effect is very real and gets people through life sometimes

Well I don't even have to read the article. 

I know what PUA's do/think,  they live in a world of magical thinking, where they believe that by running/spewing enough game they can get any girl into bed, all they have to do is keep running game until they find something that "works with the girl".

Although they might, at some point get a girl in bed, it's more a matter of timing than technique.
Few men have gone home alone to jerk off because they underestimated the character of a woman.

None of this would be an issue if the guys were cool, well dressed, and good looking.

Imagine every time you go to the mall you get ugly, fat chicks with weird mannerism coming up to you touching you in the arm and asking you for your phone number. At some point, the most patient man would still ask the security - "What's up with this place???"

Now if every time you go to the mall, cute cheerleader looking, models come up to you touching your arm, asking you for your number. Even if you have a girlfriend you would still think this is the greatest place on earth.

Also I blame this on RSD. PUAs in Toronto worship their boy Tyler. Beast mode is an RSD invention for indiscriminately harass women.

I actually know a lot of these guys...I don't roll with them anymore because of "ideological differences" aka Good Looking Loser...Toronto is a bit unique in the sense that every aspiring "PUA" and their mother pretty much goes to the same place (Eaton Center)...kinda hoping this dies down soon so I can continue to get laid...the guy who was twirling girls around I know him...he came into my work today actually...to be honest though I still think girls in New York  are a bit more seasoned and less soft...even more so than the girls at Eatons who get approached a lot

Also spot on with RSD...Toronto is honestly the epicenter of RSD fan boy-ism...the people I used to roll with looked at Tyler like he was a God...they actually jokingly nicknamed him Tylder Durder Da God...Jeffy is cool...but I don't really fuck with RSD...anyways this is weird because Toronto is the 4th largest city in North America yet EVERYONE literally goes to the same Day Venue (Eaton Center) and same Night Venue (The Maddy's) to practice pickup...downtown is a great place to hit on chics...2 or three of my same day lays came from the exact same area this chic is complaining about...but it would infuriate me how girls I approached inside the mall were so hostile and unimpressed by me approaching them because it would happen between 3-8 times at that mall...hopefully this scares all the shitty wanna be PUA's away so I can continue perfecting my craft in high volume/target heavy areas

I once had a minor issue like this on the main street of Copenhagen, probably summer 2011, where "PUA" was pretty popular and many of the girls would tell me they had just been approached by a random awkward geek.

But Toronto sounds insane. Someone over there should make a YouTube video called "busting PUAs" where they walk around and bitchslap all those weirdos.
