is going to drive me fucking insane. Several times a week now I won't be able to knock out until 5-6am. Kills my entire day.
I know melatonin is supposed to help, but I'm wary of forming a dependency. Some suggestions would be great here. Every goddamn day. Get in there.

If I can't sleep I usually just jerk it real quick and after, I get tired. Some times I cannot fall asleep unless I do that. Fucking annoying.

Set a horrible alarm (loud, far away from the bed) and get up when it goes off immediately...no snoozing.
From there straight to the shower and from that straight out of the house. If you don't have to (freelancer, student in summer break or whatever) leave, make up an excuse. Hit the gym as the first person daily. Or go out to buy a newspaper/bagel/coffee or prepare some snack the night before and eat in in a park...or just hit on a girl on her commute...doesn't matter. And from there on stay active all day. Never sit down somewhere too comfortable. Always keep your body and mind active. If you are a knowledge worker try a standing desk...or stand at a counter. And if you really have to sit at your desk (cubicle workers for example) then get up every 20min. at least. Walk to the bathrom, copy machine, coffee machine, water cooler...whatever. Get moving. By the end of the day you'll be naturally exhausted. I usually work out in the evening around 8pm. (I know it's not ideal, but that's the best fit with my schedule.) And since I follow that plan I get unbareably tired at around 11pm after my workouts and my shower. I usually fall asleep reading (on paper or ebook) something...no screens allowed and lights get dimmed/switched off. Since that routine I have the deepest sleep ever and I get more accomplished. |

Try staying up all night and then go back to a regular sleeping pattern. That always work for me.

Another thing you can try is turning down the lights more at night, along with no TV/computer. Bright LCD screens can trick our bodies into thinking it's daylight due to their intensity... Reading a book on paper will be mentally fatiguing and tire you out, reading the same stuff on an iPad or computer screen and you'll often still be wired.

Follow nez's routine.. Trust me. I've had the same problem and sticking with a new routine HELPS.
What is it you're doing at 5 a.m? On the computer? http://goodlookingloser.com/forums/index.php?topic=5314.0 Go down to reply #11. I left a link there for a good blog to read about the topic. Been sleeping like a baby after a few lifestyle changes. |

those are truly great suggestions Nez.
Avoiding caffeine/stim 5-6 hrs. before bed is a good idea. Doing a bunch of cardio until your are exhausted, coming home and jerking off works good too. I don't think you have to worry about any dependence issues with Melatonin, like you would with Ambien or alike Rx meds. Sleepy Hippo (Kratom) works better (as good) than any Rx meds for me. I dont have insomnia issues or a schedule that I have to follow though. Please no Private Messages. Post thread on with the word "Chris" or "GLL" in it if you absolutely need to get my input. Thank you for your understanding.

Night shift worker here. About 17 years doing the graveyard thing.
OP, what's your daily schedule? Do you have standard times of going to work / school, coming home, getting up, etc.? Caffeine intake? Drugs, alcohol? Internetting before going to bed? (Seriously, studies have shown computer monitors fuck up your ability to sleep if used prior to attempted shuteye). -Rune Temporarily unavailable as I need to focus on other areas of my life. Only focusing on no more than two goals at once. Best of luck to you guys.

I didn't think the "Get Hung" guide would have girls eyeing my bulge. It did.
I didn't think that your exercise and diet advice would have girls checking me out. It did.
I DEFINITELY didn't think that your hair-loss prevention would fix my hairline. Not in a billion years. It mother fucking did. You saved me a crazy amount of time, a ton of money, unnecessary pain, and destroyed my #1 source of anxiety. DESTROYED IT.
Kratom is next!
