Genital herpes? You're a fucking dick if you don't tell them at some point before sex. Any STI needs to be disclosed.
The herpes that 90% of the population has? Nah. Not an STI if I recall.

"You're a fucking dick if you don't tell them" Calm down mate. Have you ever actually researched herpes, or are you just copy-pasting the same emotional, fear-driven nonsense they spewed at you during school?

Yes I've researched herpes. An incurable std that tanks your immune system when you have outbreaks. There is no moral justification for not disclosing that you have it to someone you would engage in sex with.

Yea I checked that out and I do agree that it’s not a dangerous disease, it’s the stigma that bothers me. I’ve been having raw sexy exclusively with the same girl for the last 6 months, and she had a weird genital breakout for the first time and the doctor today diagnosed it as herpes. I’ve never had any symptoms of herpes in my life that I can recall, and for sure not genital cause I would have remembered, but I’m getting a blood test in few days too. But I’ve been googling herpes test and apparently it’s very inconclusive type of test that normally even if you say test me for everything they won’t test you for herpes. But I’d be surprised if I don’t have it considering I’ve been having raw sex regularly with my girl for months. I don’t know how I can mention having herpes to online matches without completely tanking my chance to get laid and I wouldn’t blame them either. Now I’m not sure if she has herpes 1 or 2 so we’ll see, but fuck man this seems like a fucked up situation. GOAL: Financial Freedom

Have you gotten tested yet? regardless if 90% of the population has it , you should still disclose it. Honestly you never know how a girl is going to react when they find out you gave it to them. But it's really up to you if you care about telling them or not really bro. I'm also in NYC and was also recently told a girl i was seeing had herpes so i stopped seeing her. You will off course have more trouble finding girls and they might be a bit more judgemental, also like KTIL said, it depends on which type you have. Hope you are doing well Luniac!

I made an appointment to get general STD test soon but this was before I did some herpes research. Apparently when you ask to be tested for “everything” they don’t actually test for herpes because the test is so inaccurate, very high chance of false positive. There’s higher accuracy tests but they’re more expensive and so not done often. I’m fact the CDC officially discourages testing for herpes unless one is exhibiting herpes symptoms. I haven’t had any noticeable herpes on my genitals or mouth that I can recall, sometimes my balls get a bit itchy and irritated lol but that’s a far cry from typical herpes symptoms. I’m expecting the doctor to tell me that I don’t need a herpes test until I see symptoms, cause that seems consistent with current CDC guidelines, they believe the psychological negative effects are not worth the test lol I bet most people have no idea that their STD blood test didn’t actual my check for herpes and so there are tons of asymptomatic herpes carriers who think they’re clean!!! So fuck it, I’m just gonna use a condom and if I get some real symptoms then I’ll go from there. I’ve even read that the common “nOt aN StI” hsv1 as the scaremongering poster replied to me can be transmitted to the genitals thru oral sex. Now I don’t know about you, but I don’t put on a condom before girls give me head and I don’t use the oral protection thing before I eat a girl out... So that 90% herpes 1 can be transmitted to your genitals too. I’m fact that exact type of transmission appears to be on the rise. I guess there’s lots more oral going on than in the past??? At the same time, I won’t lie, I’m confident that disclosing herpes = instant rejection. I can’t help but be swayed to be silent. Actually through my googling it appears doctors have said to some patients that they do not need to disclose it. So yea I don’t know man... I think I’ll just use condoms and call it a day, especially considering I haven’t had any outbreaks. GOAL: Financial Freedom

No, you do not need to disclose herpes on a dating app. There are many kinds of things you don't need to reveal: 99% of your life. Your mental status, your job, your living situation, your bank account, your friends...nothing. It's a dating app. They are strangers, most of whom you will never meet. Even fewer will you ever have in your bed.
Should you disclose any STI before you have sex? Yes. |

If I’ve had no outbreaks and as I’ve explained above, regular std tests don’t even check for herpes unless you clearly have an outbreak, then the most I can say before sex is that I’ve been with a person who has it but theres no evidence I have it... although it’s likely? What’s the point... GOAL: Financial Freedom

Then the point is, until you have proven yourself to have it, act like you dont have it an move on. If you start getting bumps on your dick then you would be an asshole to not tell someone.
What someone thinks of herpes any other STI is, is up to each individual. Some people are cool with it, some aren't. It's a subjective thing, that why you need to tell them before you have sex. You can call me a scaremonger but I never posted my own thoughts about herpes, only that you're a dick if you knowingly spread it. But if you do know that you have it, and you dont tell anyone, then you're a fucking dick. You're spreading a disease that stays with you for life, not sure how anyone can justify that. So at the moment OP, you dont know if you have herpes right? Then move on and keep on smashing girls. If you realize that you do have herpes, the obligation on you is to tell them, just like your girl told you. Don't be a snake.

I didn't think the "Get Hung" guide would have girls eyeing my bulge. It did.
I didn't think that your exercise and diet advice would have girls checking me out. It did.
I DEFINITELY didn't think that your hair-loss prevention would fix my hairline. Not in a billion years. It mother fucking did. You saved me a crazy amount of time, a ton of money, unnecessary pain, and destroyed my #1 source of anxiety. DESTROYED IT.
