and by normal I mean being able to live an unrestricted life. By the way I'm not considering the economical, social, psychological, etc damage... that's a given.
by normal I mean: + people not wearing diapers in their faces + packed concerts + being able to go to gym without fucking restrictions + being able to do previous social activities that right now are totally prohibited

Yeah but don't hold your breath. Don't use covid as an excuse to wait to do something you really want to do, you might be waiting many more months.

This pussy ass virus kills 1.4% of the people who get infected and I can't even go to the gym, wtf. McDonald's get more people killed with their nasty meals and nobody is shutting them down.
But yeah, I don't know if or when we'll return to normal, I keep hearing people on TV going like "we're gonna have to get used to living with restrictions" and I'm like ugh, but you know these are policy makers and "experts" so yeah, probably not going back to normal any time soon if ever. |

Word up. We've been in some sort of restriction for the entire year here in Melbourne. They're just now starting to open dancefloors albeit with restrictions to the amount of people.
I have a degree in statistics and the death rate is more like 0.14% when you account for unknown cases. Want to smack these fucking hospitality workers posting shit about wearing masks on facebook bitch you can't even do math. If you're going to be in lockdown for a while without gyms I'd reccomend getting some adjustible weights. I did 4-5 months of running and military style workouts but got sick of it, was putting on good size at home with the dumbbells getting fuckin big. must lift more

I would be pulling out my hair if I wasn’t able to go to the gym. You can’t even find adjustable dumbbells for sale right now because they’re all sold out, have been since March. Rapitup is right, the CDC numbers I’ve seen suggest the actual death rate is well below 1% but people don’t seem to want to hear it.
I want things to go back to normal, and I think by late 2021 things will have started to. |

You can still find DBs if you try hard enough. Hit up gyms that have closed down (permanently) and are liquidating. Or hit up your gym for an equipment loan. Mine did that back in March.
Worst case scenario, do strong man shit. All you need is to buy cement blocks or bags and ideally have a wheelbarrow. I'll be trying that when I'm home for 3 weeks without my equipment and gyms there are closed.

I have 2 degrees, work in healthcare, understand statistics, and want to slap people who downplay the severity of the virus. Heart disease is the #1 killer in the US, 1700 people per day. Covid is currently killing 2000+ people per day (3200 covid deaths in just 1 day last week), and has been the #1 killer in the US for the last month. We sure care about 1700 people dying daily from heart disease. We prescribe all kinds of drugs to treat it. We do massive surgeries, artificial hearts, stents, arterial bypass, heart transplants...costing Billions. People being careless means myself, and my coworkers are put at greater risk for our own health in trying to save their asses. The healthcare system in the US is severely stressed. There are nurse shortages in hospitals across the entire country. You should fucking care. If you end up in the hospital for ANY reason you will be receiving substandard care because of the stress of Covid on the system. Even if you just end up hospitalized because of a car accident, you have fewer nurses, doctors, pharmacists with eyes on you. They are tired, stressed, burned out, and many are leaving the profession. 2500 nurses went on strike in Pennsylvania to protest working conditions just last month. You should fucking care because it's going to bite you, or someone you care about in the ass, even if not directly from Covid. To you directly, I understand the situation is much different in Australia, and I'm fine with reasonable and appropriate precautions that are not overbearing. You should be thankful your country has faired so much better. |

So your issue with the virus is people being pussys and clogging up our hospitals because they THINK they're going to die, because of how much drama they've added to the virus? |

Maybe I can clarify, because I think a lot of issues are getting mixed up in this whole situation. I went home in mid-march and I had feelings back in January this was going to be big just seeing what happened in China. This virus is not something to laugh at or not take seriously and we shouldn't be walking around like everything is normal. I cut my social interactions down significantly and I'm always cognizant of when I'm in peoples space or around older folks. I don't think this virus is a hoax and we need to be careful. I just think this whole top-down government central planning is very dangerous. We're going further and further down a path where we give more and more power to these central planners who tell us what to do. I believe the majority of people (80-90%) are decent and will do what is required of them due to us being social creatures. I think when you mandate masks, start handing out fines and start trying to impose restrictions on people's basic rights and liberties you only make this situation worse. There are a lot of people myself included who would be very happy to go along with the status quo if it wasn't being shoved down our throats by authoritarian governments. We've done close to 8 months of lockdown in Melbourne this year. Yes we have close to 0 cases. We had 5 yesterday or something. Everything is "all sweet" because government is pumping out money to anyone who lost a job. Australia is a very rich nation. But this free money ends at some point. We're also in massive amounts of debt. Federal interest rates are close to 0%. Corporate, government and personal debt is at all time highs around the globe. We were in for a depression before covid. I personally worry about what happens when the economic downturn really hits. When we're looking at 20-30% unemployment and civil unrest. Do you think things will get more or less authoritarian? And not to get into too many things at once but our current economic troubles are exactly because we have too much government. And these people are only going to take more power. They're talking about things like no private property, guaranteed universal income etc. This is exactly the same road we've paved every time towards communism during the 20th century and its lead to mass starvation and death every time. That's what I'm really worried about. I understand there's bad shit going on now but I can see where this authoritarian bullshit leads and I'm way more concerned about that than a virus because the consequences could be much more severe. Anyways I'll leave it there. I respect your point of view and I know this isn't easy for anyone. It's unfortunate that this virus has to come at a time when we're also having a very principled divide on the role of government and our most important values as a society. must lift more

I apologize if I came in rude. I'm also against authoritarian government. I know the situation in AU is much different than in the US. I get worked up because Covid is seriously affecting my profession, not because of the government, but because of the public's behavior.
I appreciate and respect your POV too. Hope we all come out on top when this is over. |

I didn't think the "Get Hung" guide would have girls eyeing my bulge. It did.
I didn't think that your exercise and diet advice would have girls checking me out. It did.
I DEFINITELY didn't think that your hair-loss prevention would fix my hairline. Not in a billion years. It mother fucking did. You saved me a crazy amount of time, a ton of money, unnecessary pain, and destroyed my #1 source of anxiety. DESTROYED IT.
