i live in montreal im 20 years old. Im studying to become a nurse ill have my diploma in a years and a half but i dont feel like doing this all my life....i currently working as a health care(idk if is the real word in english...)but id like to try something new that could pay 15$ per hour and more ?
Ive read victor post about getting a labor job...but i think that u need. To study for a year and a half in canada ...
How did u got involved in this scene? I have 0 knowledge in the drink? Could u gave me a quick guide on how to become a bartender...cuz there is a bar that i bring all my girl to date and the bartender recognize me and know the drinks i want even before i ask it...so i could try...
Theres a few different ways you can into it, i personally took a bartender course for a few weeks, but to be honest if you find a place who needs bartenders they will train you, I would say 90% of the drinks are common sense, (rum and coke, vodka soda, ext) find someone who's looking for bartenders or even waiters and let the manager know you want to be on the bar, if you put in a few good weeks, i promise you they will start training you on the bar, people want nights off all the time, when they do boom, your up on a friday night behind the bar making the $
Bartender or server is your only way man. It's 100% the easiest and best way to make good money without studying. It takes time to get into a nice restaurant or bar, but you have to start somewhere. Learn classic cocktails/regions of the wine world to start and just apply everywhere to get your foot in the door.
Nah man you can easily get into a physical labour job without any qualifications.
I know because i worked as a labourer for a few months until they promoted me to builders apprentice. Sales is also a good entry level job
Did my first bar tending gig for a bday party a few days ago and made $250 for 5 hrs work + 1 hr travel/cleanup.
Consider that because of a misunderstanding I didn't have even half the stuff I needed to make all the drinks people wanted so it could have been a lot higher or even referrals to another gig.
Watch this video to start then get your foot in the door someplace
A friend of a friend recommended me for a FOH position, and I went from there.
If you can find a entry position as a busser that would help.
Then the boss asked me to work the party after a few months.
clean pressed clothes of correct size and fit, shoes shined and polished
well groomed (hair teeth nail)
take care of your skin
remember the details of the clients and be able to have a good chat with them
its hard to explain but make sure you 'look professional' while you're doing anything
I was offered a job by the owner of a much larger 300+ seat restaurant, I'm pretty sure the above was the reason.
Even if you do manage to get a good paying F&B gig I would still look for a next step forward, like a high paying skilled trade. The majority of FOH and BOH restaurant positions are going to be automated in our working lifetimes, so only the most good looking and personable will be able to get the FOH jobs while the BOH will be composed of experienced and creative chefs (one head chef will oversee multiple establishments) + technicians to program, upgrade and repair the food processing machines, POS software, HVAC, etc

I didn't think the "Get Hung" guide would have girls eyeing my bulge. It did.
I didn't think that your exercise and diet advice would have girls checking me out. It did.
I DEFINITELY didn't think that your hair-loss prevention would fix my hairline. Not in a billion years. It mother fucking did. You saved me a crazy amount of time, a ton of money, unnecessary pain, and destroyed my #1 source of anxiety. DESTROYED IT.
Kratom is next!
