i'm starting my 3rd semester on this small town college (6000students) and since the semester started i'm just permanently depressed.
i'm 29yo and i feel like way too old for uni... i'm still living in a 1 room student dorm with super thin walls.. i keep hearing my neighbors from next door and it's fucking driving me crazy. Specially this dorm room fucks me up so bad... you can hear EVERYFUCKINGTHING .. drink a glas of water -> you hear it. You could have a conversation through the walls they are so thin.
Last year i had a car and could drive back home 6+h and just visit uni on the days i had to be there which was great, but now i dont have a car anymore and i have to stay here all the time...
i know nobody here and it just hard to understand how i can connect with other ppl. i would really like to have friends here or atleast pick up girls.
i have no problem cold approaching in big citys with zero approach anxiety but here in this small college town i just can't do it... i feel left out by my student collegues because of some shit i did last year..
i just dont know what to do, i'm so stressed out...
what's depressing me the most is this:
in my dorm the guy next door is new and hes just here for like 2 weeks.. yet i feel like hes already banging the girl a couple doors down.. i'm just like WTF how do these guys do this???
Hey man, I can certainly relate to that. When I was in University, I was pretty depressed a lot of the time, because I wasn't on my mission yet. I didn't realize who I was and what I wanted.
As much as I'd like to empathize with you and kiss your ass and say everything will be ok, what's best for you is to start attacking areas where you're not 100%.
First things first, you have to post some pictures of what you look like, you can blur your face out if you want.
Where do you need to improve? Start dealing with those problems.
1) AA Program (if you need too)
2) Hit the gym - Candito Program or Strong Lifts 5x5 (any program really)
3) Make a habit of talking to one girl/guy per day.
4) Start working on your style (assuming your style is fucked up)
You have to post some kind of picture so we can see what we're working with here.
More importantly, who are you and what do you want? You're 29-years-old man. You have to start doing something.
Start logs related to each one of those categories that I just mentioned, and start documenting your progress here every single day so you're always taking action and people can chime in sometimes and help you.
I wish i could move to another flat, but the thing is i'm so so fkn depressed that i dont even want to go outside. Looking for another flat cost energy i don't have and don't know where to get from...
Lifting is a good idea, since i do exercise every day i do definatly feel much better then before, i also stopped jerking off which helps me too.
I know i have to fully commit myself to doing these things (lifting, working on my Anxiety). I think my style is ok for now, but i have to loose BF i'm probably at +20% i haven't even measured it.
Today i talked to a girl in the Uni, and it was really nice... freshman are so easy to talk to but still i'm fucked in my mind cause i talked to like 1 person in 2 weeks. It was like a good opportunity that came up, but i just can't think of more of those opportunitys lol.. i wouldn't know where to go to talk to someone every day, the city is so small and the student flat isn't near campus.
Bro, you sound like you're in the early stages of falling into deep shit. Go make an appointment with the school counselor, stop this right now before it gets worse. You might as well go, they take it out of your tuition(at least I think your school should have a health center).
