My question is a bit general, mainly because I don't really know what I'm looking for.
My head is a bit all over the place at the moment. Any drive and motivation I once had to be my "best self" has dissipated. I do very little with my spare time now - and I'm slowly feeling myself dying.
I'm just wondering if there are any good books or articles the give practical advice to "getting your shit together" and recovering from depression.
I would say that I do okay with women, however I'm noticing that the women I hook up with are almost never ones that I actually find attractive. I think part of this is that I don't feel good or worthy enough for them. Maybe this is genuinely the case, or maybe it's just all in my head. Either way, I could do with some advice.
If you don't know what you want from life I can't tell you how to find that.
I can tell you how to improve daily habits though. I used a technique to some degree and it worked.
The idea is to stack a good habit every week. For example, Week 1 - get cold showers every morning, Week 2 - same as week 1 + cut out sugar, Week 3 - same as previous week + stop watching porn
If you fail in a major way with any task, don't add any new task, just repeat the week. If you failed to cut out sugars on week 2 and ate cake twice, just repeat the week. If you fail 3 weeks in a row, replace cutting out sugar with an easier habit and add cutting out sugar later.
Keep a log. Won't give you a sense of direction but will fix your daily life and maybe make your head clearer and more structured.
What good habits you want to follow is up to you. It could be NoFap, gym, cold showers, reading books, going to sleep on time, quitting cigarettes, etc. Figure out the habits you want and start implementing them in the way I explained.
I had a log like that but stopped updating for reasons, I still follow the general principles. It helped me get out of a hole. I still slip, but I am a lot better now.
Coolguy is right. It's all about habits. What you do in any given day is largely just whatever things you're in the habit of doing. Gym. Work. Grocery. Talking to girls. Dicking around. Whatever. And since your life is just a compilation of many days, your habits essentially define your life, and what you accomplish in it. You can have good habits, which take you towards your long-term goals, or bad habits, which stand in opposition to them. So focus on building good habits, one habit at a time.
Everybody wants to go to heaven but nobody wants to die.

I didn't think the "Get Hung" guide would have girls eyeing my bulge. It did.
I didn't think that your exercise and diet advice would have girls checking me out. It did.
I DEFINITELY didn't think that your hair-loss prevention would fix my hairline. Not in a billion years. It mother fucking did. You saved me a crazy amount of time, a ton of money, unnecessary pain, and destroyed my #1 source of anxiety. DESTROYED IT.
Kratom is next!
