My question is a bit general, mainly because I don't really know what I'm looking for.
My head is a bit all over the place at the moment. Any drive and motivation I once had to be my "best self" has dissipated. I do very little with my spare time now - and I'm slowly feeling myself dying. I'm just wondering if there are any good books or articles the give practical advice to "getting your shit together" and recovering from depression. I would say that I do okay with women, however I'm noticing that the women I hook up with are almost never ones that I actually find attractive. I think part of this is that I don't feel good or worthy enough for them. Maybe this is genuinely the case, or maybe it's just all in my head. Either way, I could do with some advice. |

Buy this:
www.amazon.com/Cant-Afford-Luxury-Negati...hought/dp/0931580242 It went a long way in helping me cure ~9 years of depression. Helped a tonne of people I've given it to (including "Dag" here on the forums). It's a good first step to working on depression. It'll get the ball rolling. Andy / 32yo / Australia

This may sound basic, but whenever you are feeling down, call a friend or a family member, it helps a lot. Also, helping other people, not being so centered on yourself helps.

Coolguy is right. It's all about habits. What you do in any given day is largely just whatever things you're in the habit of doing. Gym. Work. Grocery. Talking to girls. Dicking around. Whatever. And since your life is just a compilation of many days, your habits essentially define your life, and what you accomplish in it. You can have good habits, which take you towards your long-term goals, or bad habits, which stand in opposition to them. So focus on building good habits, one habit at a time.

I didn't think the "Get Hung" guide would have girls eyeing my bulge. It did.
I didn't think that your exercise and diet advice would have girls checking me out. It did.
I DEFINITELY didn't think that your hair-loss prevention would fix my hairline. Not in a billion years. It mother fucking did. You saved me a crazy amount of time, a ton of money, unnecessary pain, and destroyed my #1 source of anxiety. DESTROYED IT.
