I have my annual physical next week, so I emailed my Dr and told him my concerns, tried every med for depression and anxiety been to 3 different psychiatriststyles over the years,, nothing is helping. I told him my thoughts on maybe a thyroid issue.
He answers your blood work looks good other than cholesterol, would you consent to see our psychiatric nurse?
OMG, what part of I've tried every antidepressant does he not understand.
BTW they have only tested TSH. Not the more detailed thyroid panel.
Mine was 560 when I went on TRT. Looking back, the only things it really helped me with was a slightly more positive attitude & a little bit of strength. Really it validated that I was doing pretty good without it. I guess all experience is good, but knowing what I know now, I'm not sure I would have done it.
However, I know several guys whose life it really changed. Your Doc won't prescribe. You will need to go to a clinic that specializes in this stuff. There is one on every corner in Florida.
Clint: Start seeing another family doctor. You should ask around 3-4 and see what they think. Relying on the same doctor will only give you the same answers. That'll get you the same result over and over.
Shop around. If you have the money to pay for tests then you have the money to see someone else. No homo intended.
You have 2 options: seek out a doctor known for having an open mind in these issues, or self-treat yourself with constant testing and a shitload of personal research. 99% of doctors are heinously misinformed and actually do more damage than good when it comes to thyroid.
Also, it seems that hypothyroid has an effect on your testosterone. If you truly are hypo, it sounds like there's a good chance your T will go up once you get your thyroid in order
I'm been self-treating since I live in Korea and you can get the thyroid meds you need online. I've only been going to the doc for tests. I'm not 100% but I'm getting there. It seems that with hypothyroid commonly comes a slew of other problems.... I have iron, b12 and cortisol (adrenal fatigue) issues. I might also have some food intolerances that seemingly popped up out of nowhere... these days beer seems to exhaust me when i never had an issue with it. But I would have never learned any of this if I just blindly trusted whatever random doctor I went to
Thanks for the input. I finally got in with a functionalso medicine Dr a couple weeks ago. I skied him the blood work I had and described my symptoms. He seemed much more proactive. We talked about TSH and test as well as possible vitamin deficiencies.
I showed him the blood work my other doctor did. They only tested TSH and total test, plus vitamin D. Along with cholesterol etc.
He said, that we need more details, full thyroid panel, free test, he is testing for a bunch of different things, they took 7 vials of blood plus urine and stool.
We talked about the blood tests I had so far.
my TSH is 2.2, he said while that is "normal " people usually don't feel real good until it's around 1-1.5
My test was 560, he said that at 500 guys usually start to feel bad, however he has had some patients that didn't get better until they get to 1000, he seems to get we are all individuals and need tailored treatment to feel our best.
I am very encouraged. I go back next Tuesday to get results of blood tests. I have another appointment a few weeks later to see what up with my stool. He's testing to make sure I'm digesting my food properly and for food sensitivities.
I'll post on Tuesday,
Thanks again to all who responded
I got my results today. Definitely low thyroid. Dr is giving me natural thyroid for that. His test showed my testosterone in the 300s and free test was very low. He gave me a test shot, it should last a week or so. If I feel better he will be putting me on trt.
I've always heard of Tiromel as being "Okay" compared to the other brands namely ctyomel (usa) / cynomel (mexico) at this point it's better than nothing since cytomel still isn't being sold.
on a related note, how reliable/safe is shipping on that site. I see other items of interest in addition to the tiromel
Hey protoman/dc7 if you guys are reading,
Can you point me to a reliable source of T3? I have been using NDT (from the Thai pimpom site) and feel it doesn't make much difference, even at 2-3 grains. I believe I have mild hypothyroid (back in Feb 2016, my TSH was like 3.4)
Just wanted to follow up. On 8/30, The doctor gave me a testosterone shot, to see if it helped my anxiety and depression. The next few days I noticed my anxiety went down a lot. By the end of the week it came back. I got back into the doctor, he wants to put me on trt. He thinks I need to be in the high range on test. I think I like this Dr. He gave me another shot to carry me until my script is in.
This time I really feel the shot. Anxiety down a lot, feeling beefier in the gym. Confidence is up. I'm going to give the trt a shot.

I didn't think the "Get Hung" guide would have girls eyeing my bulge. It did.
I didn't think that your exercise and diet advice would have girls checking me out. It did.
I DEFINITELY didn't think that your hair-loss prevention would fix my hairline. Not in a billion years. It mother fucking did. You saved me a crazy amount of time, a ton of money, unnecessary pain, and destroyed my #1 source of anxiety. DESTROYED IT.
Kratom is next!
