I'll start from the beginning,
I purchased my domain through Squarespace, started playing with with website builder was was immediately dissatisfied. Now I've transferred my domain over to Wordpress.com and purchased a premium plan (which is still refundable at the moment) and now I've learned that there is a difference between Wordpress.com and Wordpress.org, the latter being that you provide your own hosting, at least that's what I think is different to the best of my knowledge. So, to put things into perspective this site/blog is my practice run into the industry, and I just want to hear some recommendations and to get put on the right track. Can anyone drop some knowledge on me? Thanks in advance, Fella's. |

What specifically would you like to know?
What is the website about? What platform you choose depends on a few things, including the content and the amount of time you plan to invest. You are right about wordpress.com vs. wordpress.org, as .org is where you host it. wordpress.com is the simpler version that doesn't have the options and plugins like .org and contains 'wordpress.com' in your domain (although i believe you can pay your own domain now). It is however likely easier to set up and use. If I had to take a guess, I'd assume wordpress.org is the better option for you (unless you want other squarespace alternative like wix and weebly, tho they're still lacking). but it depends on what you're after. |

Thanks for the reply, man. I don't exactly have a specific topic that I'm going to be blogging about, just gonna start off by shooting the shit and gain some experience writing/blogging. I may continue with this site or learn from it and abandon it down the road.
I didn't really have a preference for squarespace I just wanted to try it out. So would your typical hosting sites be like web host hub or blue host? What would be some benefits of getting a separate host service other than ability to use plug ins? |

I've heard good things about bluehost, which I believe Chris uses for gll, but I've only really used hostgator which worked well for me.
Overall there's seemingly just more flexibility with it. I may be wrong (at least to some extent) but wordpress.com just seems to be more limited, exactly how much of a difference there is I'm not sure. wordpress.com may be a good idea to just mess around with and not take anything seriously, but if you want something more professional go with .org. If you made a site that down the road became really popular you would probably end up switching to .org. There's also some options like using optimizepress plugin on wordpress.org. It simplifies everything to help make a nice looking site yet you still have all the customizing and depth of wordpress |

Hey Jaronimo, I started a blog a few months back through boldanddetermined's link which runs through bluehost. They automatically installed wordpress for me and it was all super simple, since then I have not had any problems whatsoever and support has been great at answering questions.
Altogether it cost me a maybe two hundred bucks but I got all the bells and whistles and in hindsight half of them were not necessary so you could likely get it even cheaper. February Goals:
-Put 120 hours into my blog -Hit 500 active users -Make my first sale through blogging |

You could start with a monthly hosting plan (instead of committing to a full year) and you can be all set up with a domain under $40, with after that each month after costing around $15

I can vouch for bluehost as well. GREAT customer service. You can chat with someone live and they'll fix whatever problem you're having immediately. Or if I send them an email they've always gotten back to me in under 24 hours.
They also have 1 step Wordpress implementation. You don't need to know anything about computers. Just click the button that says "install wordpress" and they do it automatically. Easy as pie. |

I didn't think the "Get Hung" guide would have girls eyeing my bulge. It did.
I didn't think that your exercise and diet advice would have girls checking me out. It did.
I DEFINITELY didn't think that your hair-loss prevention would fix my hairline. Not in a billion years. It mother fucking did. You saved me a crazy amount of time, a ton of money, unnecessary pain, and destroyed my #1 source of anxiety. DESTROYED IT.
Kratom is next!
