Using the method in the guide on this website to lose your virginity, I have gotten some girls on the phone, which is ok, but it still happens to me that they won't pick up. Here's an example:

Message on okcupid, do the "Just got back from something, what you up to." Say I have to go, get number. Text her saying we'll talk later. She texts hi right back.

At 5pm today I text "what's up," she responds at 11pm "great!." I call her right away, she texts back "sorry can't call." At this point I'm ignoring her again since she seems kind of dead in the water, taking 6 hours to respond to me initially. Not sure where to go from here.

Is it better to try to set stuff up over text or call her later?

Try to set a date through text. Some girls won't talk on the phone with a potential date from online because they feel anxious. I've been out on dates with girls from online where we only texted. You have nothing to lose by trying.

You can set up dates over text as well. Nothing wrong with that. In fact that's what I usually do.

I'm not a good example, but I don't think I've ever got a girl from around here to pick up a phone call. Maybe once in a blue moon. I guess it depends on where you live and the culture of the area. As I said I'm not a good example.

Huh, ok. Seems to be a consensus here. I just felt like I had to go for the phone calls since the guide only mentions calling girls and says not to text.

I personally hate talking on the phone. If at all possible I prefer text. I would do as the others suggested and just text her. If she's slow responding she may be busy. Me personally, I don't have time to dick around. If it's slow responding for a while I just usually try to ask them out. They give an indecisive answer or a "I'll let you know" then you just throw them on the back burner. It's a numbers game unfortunately.

I find this is common with the younger girls.

I grew up with telephones so I still think it's odd to text when you could just hear someone's voice. By the time "normal" (read: non nerd) people had e-mail addresses, I was already in my 20's. So my social instincts are still rooted in a pre-internet age.

I don't mind adapting.

It's only a mindfuck if someone gets locked into thinking, "This is how I prefer to do things... Why isn't everyone else just like me?"

To get laid, I'll adapt. (And really, could there be any greater evolutionary reason for adaption?).
Temporarily unavailable as I need to focus on other areas of my life. Only focusing on no more than two goals at once. Best of luck to you guys.

Actually, if you think about when the guide was written and when Chris was really hitting it and that that's an US context we are talking about then it kinda makes sense. The guide might have gotten a little out of date for certain contexts. Probably, as Rune says above, the younger a girl is, the more likely she's not going to call or take a call. Everyone texts these days.

Millenials are weird. I had a couple girls not return calls, but text back. Still met up with them via text though. Not sure why. Girls are just fucking irrational
