I mean first number of a girl I think I have a shot with. (single + short but powerful interaction)

I texted her:
"so, where are you going to buy me a drink? Yazé, the umbrella hitchhiker"
she replied:
"I think it rather has to be you who has to buy me a drink, I allowed you to use my umbrella haha"

Now my first impulse was to say something like:
"hmm, you got a point there"

But I don't know if that's to admissive/beta/not taking the lead?

+ I don't know what to say after that to keep the conversation going.

(keep in mind I don't want to screen too hard: I sure want to go on a date, but I don't want to scare her away. If she is a boyfriend seeker, I don't mind. I want to see how far I can possibly go with her, even if it takes a while)

I was thinking and maybe something better would be:

"hmm I don't know, your umbrella wasn't really good quality.."

(her umbrella kept folding open, because of the wind)

If I were you, I wouldn't go with either of those. Pitch a time for a date and tell her you can discuss it then.

Thanks bro, I used that exactly.
Even without ';)' which I first wanted to add, but then realised, there's no need and might even be creepy.

Main reason why I don't want to use my own lines is because I don't know if they work. So I'd rather fuck it up with someone else's lines, so I won't be angry at myself. Not that your lines won't work, but I suppose you had more experience with texting girls than me, so it's only logical you know it better.

Exactly. This does two-fold;

1. It gets straight to the point.
2. It cuts out all the unnecessary back and forth banter. Keeps you mysterious. Think of how many other guys text girls for HOURS. Don't be that guy.

Exactly what I expected though.

I think I'm just gonna stick to my own feeling next time.
Because like I said: I don't want to screen too hard already, if I find a solid 9 who is a boyfriend seeker I'd rather not scare her away, and I don't mind having a girlfriend for once in my life and having sex for the first time as well.
