I just read the article on how to text a girl after getting her number. Text, then call immediately when she replies.
That article assumes you were aggressively sexually screening when you took the number, but currently I'm using basic guy game.
Would you still recommend going with the "hey sexy" style openers even though I am not being sexual during the initial interaction?

Yeah man I’d call her up regardless of how you got her number. You don’t have to say “hey sexy” if you don’t feel comfortable. You could just say “hey” or some form of that. But as soon as she texts back it’s usually a good idea to call right then while her phone is in her hand. If a girl really likes you chances are she’ll pick up.

I usually text them something along the lines of:

"Hey, hb, it's intrinsicanomaly, it was nice meeting you. So about that coffee we talked about, are you free today 8ish?"

or if you want to make a little more conversation

"Hey, hb, it's intrinsicanomaly, how's your day going?"
[whatever she says]
"Good, that sounds fun (unless she texts you her cat died). So how about we meet today for a capuccino at around 8?"

To be honest tho, as long as you don't come off as creepy or thirsty, it doesn't really matter what you text them as long as you ask them out.

Well I do think Chris is probably right that your chances go way up if you call instead of texting, that makes sense to me. It's more confident, and it's easy to ignore a text. If you're on the phone, she's probably going to say yes.

I'm just curious about that very first text where you are seeing if she's going to text you back, he suggests using the "sexy" as an additional form of screening and making your intentions clear. I'm just wondering if that's too incongruent if I made the approach without screening using basic guy game.
