My whole life I've struggled with getting up early (i.e. before 7). I can set my alarm before 7 am on days I absolutely have to get up early but halfway through those days I become a total zombie because I fell asleep around midnight. My body needs at least 8 hours of sleep to be fully functional and sharp throughout the day. Even on days where I've been mostly tired, I get a second wind of energy starting around 8 pm which tricks me into working longer than I should. When all is said and done I'm falling asleep around 11:45 pm and waking up around 8:15 - 8:30 feeling already rushed and behind schedule.
My problem isn't that complicated; it's just a matter of discipline. I need to get into the habit of getting my ass into bed and ready to sleep before 10 pm every night (except on nights when I get laid ![]() I'll be using this thread to hold myself accountable by logging my nightly bedtime. Eventually, I'd like to be in bed by 9 pm and wake up around 5 am but first let's start with something more realistic. Being able to nail down this habit will make me a more productive and happier person. Pre-GLL: 23 (over 10 years)

I don't understand your struggle. I used to be a WoW gamer back when I was a teen and would go to sleep at 4am and wake up late in the afternoon on weekends. Then proceed with my normal school schedule while still gaming during the week. Now I wake up at 4:30am sharp every day for work and fall asleep at 8pm. Why don't you just peel the band aid off and wake up at 5am for 3 days straight and pop caffine pills in the morning. Stop after 12 in the afternoon and fall asleep dead tired for 7 days. At the moment, that's not a viable option; with my end-of-term school/research schedule I need to get in 8-9 hours daily of sharp, focused, work. Just can't afford any days in zombie mode right now. Definitely, something to consider in the week between Xmas and new years though... Pre-GLL: 23 (over 10 years)

This is easy dude.... set your alarm to when you want to wake up.
-> Get out of bed -> Drink enough coffee to wake yourself up. -> Repeat Your sleeping pattern will be forced into what ever you want it to be.
