SizeGenetics Penis Extender Study:
Conclusions and Discussion from the British Journal of Urology (International) March 2009
I studied Health and Exercise Science (HES) in college and have written extensively for Livestrong.com citing and analyzing peer-reviewed medical research.
I am a nerd sometimes too.
To my knowledge, the SizeGenetics penis extender is the only penis extender that has been part of a legitimate clinical study overseen by Board certified Urologists at a University with results published in an peer-reviewed academic journal.
Again, this is LEGITIMATE clinical academic study, with REAL doctors and not commercial product promotion specialists hosting and tweaking a fake experiment to arrive at the desired result. This study is REAL.

Below I will be discussing the following study-
A pilot phase-II prospective study to test the ‘efficacy’ and tolerability of a [SizeGenetics, formerly AndroPenis] penile-extender device in the treatment of ‘short penis’.

A lot of other penis extenders or male enhancement systems claim or suggest that their product is “clinically proven,” unless you see the specific study published in an academic journal – this is not likely to be the case.
Most companies don’t hesitate to “piggyback” off of THIS SPECIFIC SizeGenetics study to promote their own products. Again, to my knowledge, this is the only legitimate clinical penis extender study that has been undertaken with the results published and reviewed by the International Medical community.
As follows is my summary and commentary of the SizeGenetics penis extender study-
The SizeGenetics Penis Extender Study was conducted at the San Giovanni Hopstial at the University of Turin, Turin Italy. The findings of the study were published in the March 2009 British Journal of Urology International, Volume 103, Issue 6, pages 793-797. This is journal one of the more respected and esteemed Urulogy in the world. It is peer-reviewed by an International community of board certified Urologist and medical physicians
SizeGenetics was created by Dr. Jorn Ege Siana, as well as Dr. Finn Worm Knudsen and Dr. Michael Carter. All doctors are board certified Urologists.
Seven Urologists at San Giovanni Battista Hospital at the University of Turin, in Turin Italy studied the effects of the SizeGenetics penis extender over a period of 12 months, measuring results at 4 different intervals.
The study was called, "A pilot phase-II prospective study to test the ‘efficacy’ and tolerability of a [SizeGenetics] penile-extender device in the treatment of ‘short penis’."
Physicians defined ‘short penis’ as a penis measurement under 2 standard deviations of a average penis size range. The average range selected was 12.7cm to 15.2cm (5 to 6 inches) in erect length. More specifically, ‘short penis’ was considered a penis shorter than 4cm (1.574 inches) in the soft or flaccid state and shorter than
In the SizeGenetics penis extender study, participants were instructed to wear the [SizeGenetics] penis extender for at least 4 hours a day. The men would have measurements taken at the 1, 3, 6 and 12 month marks. The first statistically significant result was found at month 6.
At the six month interval, the average (mean) increase in penis size was 2.3cm (almost 1 total inch). All participants in the study had gained size as of month 6, more than half of the subject increased their size over 2.3cm (almost an inch) in just 6 months.
The growth continued, as of month 12, all the men had gained between 2.5cm and over ~5.1cm (1 and ~2 total inches). All men improved the size of their flaccid (soft) penis and improved the size of their erect (hard) penis. All the results were statistically significant.
The group of seven Urologists concluded-
“Penile extenders should be regarded as a minimally invasive and effective treatment option to elongate the penile shaft in patients seeking treatment for a short penis.”
A little more about the study-
The average age was 45.7 years old.
30 patients were interviewed and completed a physical for the study.
21 patients were selected for the SizeGenetics penis extender study on the basis of “they had ‘short penis,’ (below 7cm, >2.759 inches), were motivated/trusted to use the device for at least 4 hours a day and would benefit psychologically from any potential results. Of the 21 patients selected, 2 dropped out a some point during the during and 19 remained for the duration (12 months) of the clinical trial.
2 of these patients had severe erectile dysfunction.
1 of these patients had moderate erectile dysfunction.
9 of these patients had mild erectile dysfunction.
9 of these patients had no erection dysfunction.
Everyone in study gained length on their penis.
